KNOXVILLE, IA. (June 26, 2011)- XCR rolled into Knoxville Raceway for round 3 of their Heat Wave tour. A total of 12 cars made the trip to Iowa ready to rumble on the half mile.
The first heat saw XCR t91 and IFRT_67r on the front row. XCR 58 and VLR_Shock drove past in fought side by side for most of the race until XCR t91 got in and made it three wide before VLR_Shock was knocked up the track. IFRT_67r rolled passed as the chaos ensued coming away with the win. XCR 58 finished right on IFRT_67r's bumper in second and VLR_Shock finished right next to XCR 58 in third. Hoots finished fourth and XCR t91 ended up fifth.
The second heat saw BLS_Jsn and BLS_42 up front as the green flag came out. VLR_McGee would find his way to the front and take the checkers. Tony would wind up second and BLS_Jsn would get the final transfer spot in third. Squirrel finished fourth, J-Mac wounded up in fifth and BLS_42 ended up sixth after a series of problems.
The dash started with VLR_McGee and IFRT_67r on the point. At the beginning of the race a three wide attempt left IFRT_67r against the wall. Everyone shuffled around but it was VLR_McGee going wire to wire with the dash win. VLR_Shock finished second, Tony finished third, BLS_Jsn finished fourth, XCR 58 ended up fifth and IFRT_67r limped home in sixth with a damaged car.
The semi saw 6 drivers fighting for 4 spots with Hoots and Squirrel starting up front. XCR t91 and BLS_42 made their way up to finish 1-2. Hoots finished third and Squirrel got the final transfer in fourth. J-Mac and mf22 would see their nights end early.
The feature started with VLR_McGee going to the front with VLR_Shock looking and trying to pass. BLS_Jsn and Tony fought for third before Tony slipped and BLS_Jsn rolled passed. Up front VLR_Shock took over the lead but VLR_McGee didn't let him out of his sights. The hard charging train of BLS_42 and XCR 58 caught up to Tony and the three fought hard for the fourth position. BLS_42 got by and slipped in front of Tony but then as Tony made a move under BLS_42, Tony hit neutral again and spun. This allowed BLS_42 to get away in fourth as XCR 58 had to lift to avoid Tony's spinning car. Up front VLR_Shock continued his lead with VLR_McGee right on his tail. McGee finally saw an opportunity as he got beside Shock and the race was on. With 7 laps to go IFRT_67r's motor went up that caused McGee to lose time to Shock. This was the winning moment as Shock took home his first win of the season. McGee finished a strong second. BLS_Jsn cruised home in third, BLS_42 came home fourth and XCR 58 took home the fifth spot. Rounding out the field was XCR t91, Hoots and Squirrel. IFRT_67r ended up ninth after his motor let go on lap 33 and Tony was credited with tenth as we all know what happened there.
Next Sunday XCR makes the trip to Brownstown 2k10 for their 4th stop on the schedule.
