Norfolk, VA: Twenty-Four of the top sim racers drove to the east coast of Virginia on Thursday night to try to get the first win at the newly remodeled Norfolk Speedway in the fifty lap Lucas Oil Summer Sizzler Series event.

In heat 1 Bullet would start up front and hold the lead the entire race. 8x was able to stay in the 2nd transfer spot.

Heat 2 would see Shock lead every lap with Clint a close 2nd. Ice and Rain would finish 3rd and 4th.

Wheel would continue the VLR dominance and walk away with heat 3; T-91 would make his 1st feature of the LOSS Series with a 2nd place finish.

D Feature action would see BLS_42 get the win with newcomer Keith coming in 2nd. McGee would be fighting his car but get 3rd and another newbie Super Bolt would grab the final transfer spot to the “C”.

Superman would quickly move from 5th to the lead to grab the “C” Main with BLS_34 getting 2nd. Goat would run 3rd and JSN would pick up the last “B” transfer spot.

“B” main action would look much like the “C” with Superman coming to the front and taking the lead by lap 7 and going on to the win. Rain would finish 2nd with Ice and Jim transferring to the “A” Main.

Bullet would lead a stacked field to the green but Shock would motor around on the high side to lead the 1st lap. Superman would start to charge again and move to 4th by lap 2. 00 would get loose in 3n4 and Ice would tag him in the rear finishing him off for the night. From there Superman and Wheel would start to do battle for 2nd place and Shock would use this fierce battle to pull away from the field.

Ice would use the high side to get around Rain for the 5th spot on lap 5 and he would set his eyes on the 4th position held by Bullet. Ice would catch Bullet and they would start to battle for several laps allowing Rain, Jim, and 8x to catch them making it a 5 car battle for 4th. Ice was finally able to clear Bullet on lap 19 for the 4th position.  On lap 21 Rain found his way around Bullet as well sending him to 6th.

Shock continued to build his lead up to 1.85 seconds thanks in large part to Superman and Wheel’s constant door to door battling for 2nd. Ice and Rain would start to catch the VLR Teammates but it was a slow process.

Lap 37 Wheel and Superman would finally make too much contact and Superman would get his front end knocked out of alignment and would slow him for the remainder of the race. Ice would use Superman’s misfortune to catch and pass him by lap 42. Rain was able to follow Ice’s lead and make a pass for 4th on lap 46.

Wheel was finally able to get the run he needed to try to run down Shock but it was too little too late and Shock cruised to the victory by 1.2 seconds over teammate Wheel. Shock would also pick up a cool $21,000 for the evening. Ice would motor from 9th to 3rd with Rain coming home in 4th. Superman would limp home in 5th with Bullet finishing 6th. 8x was able to finish 7th with Jim grabbing the 8th spot. T-91’s night would end early and he would finish 9th. 00 would come home 10th after a lap 2 accident.

A super excited Shock was able to celebrate for the first time this year in the Doit/WFO LOLMSS. “Dang I love this place. Nothing beats grabbing a win over this kind of competition. I’ve been telling Ice all day that I’ve never lost here and I was going to do all I could to keep that streak intact. I want to thank all my fans and especially the Crossville Police Department who let me go after a sting earlier in the week at my work. Who knew breeding with sheep was illegal? Oh well, they didn't say anything about donkeys.”

Wheel was resigned to his 2nd place finish had this to say “I had something for Shock tonight but I never could get any clean air. I had Superman all over me and Shock got too much of a lead. Hope he shows up Monday and I’ll show him how it’s done. He's a punk.”

Ice seemed happy with his performance. “I couldn’t really ask for a better run coming from 9th. I got into 00 on the 2nd lap and turned him but I think he got really loose and I didn’t have anywhere to go. Had a good points night and I think Rain and I are tied on top of this thing. Looks like it’s going to be a great series.

Don’t forget that WFO is running the Topless Gen 4’s Monday 8:00 c.t. at the same track. We can expect some fireworks on this one, and not the ones you see in the sky. And not the one's Shock see's when he makes eye contact with a wild sheep. And not the ones VLR_18 see's when he dreams of VLR_Shock at night. We're talking about fireworks on the race track.
