I am currently looking ahead to the next BLS season and thinking of doing a tier system somewhat like Ice brought up some time ago.We would have a list of drivers,ranked depending on speed,cleanliness,attendance and other stuff.It would b split up into groups of drivers of 3 skill/rank levels so you would be racing drivers you would have a better chance or beating or closer to your skill level.The highest level would be The BLS Sprints,level 2 VLR Crate/BLS Superstock, and level 3 would be WFO TnL.The main reason for this post is to see how people felt about being ranked 1-??? and racing against these people for a whole series.Points would be kept seperate for each division and 3 points champions.I am afraid some people will get offended by being offset into a certain skill level when they think theyre better,but this would be an opportunity to race against drivers closer to your level and have a better chance of racing in an A main.I have already spoken to a few reps from each team so the rankings will be made as fair as humanly possible.

Sounds like a good idea. Would this be at the same track every week?

still not sure yet jim.i didnt wanna go to a shitload of trouble makin a schedule and shit if everyone is gonna bitch and cry about where they get ranked.

I'm on board for this. I want to know where I really rank amongst everybody in the communitys opinion and if I'm not in the top I'm going to push to be good enough for the top.




Although if the top class is in the Sprints......I think I won't be allowed in there for that very reason.

Heres is away to do it and not have to rank anybody,
basicly they will end up ranking themselves. Every week they will be running drivers of their own calibur but as they get better or someone else gets worse they bump eack other for a place in the prestages A main. NO qualifing or qualifing from heats every thing is done from the points system only. It truly is the fairest system that can be used, its simular to the system that all Saturday night races was born from give it a look if you want more I will help set it up.

the whole idea behind this is not to rank/rate people.We want to use this format so more drivers can run a mains and so we can have multiple support classes ran simultaniously.As a few people as of late have mentioned they do not run other leagues because they dont think they can run with "the big dogs" or whatever.Hopefully this will give them another place they can run and feel more competetive and help build some more skills for league racing.

Looks like I'm the only one that wants to be ranked. lol However you want to do it I'll run as many as I can and give it everything I got like I do at almost every track.

do people really want to know where they rank ?
is that a slap in the face as in a wake up call -or- an insult?

will this ranking system produce better racing , when similarly talented drivers are grouped together every week?

do people want someone telling them they arent good enough to race with the big dogs?

will this produce better racing in other leagues? knowing what you are ranked at

is it fair to have this league rank drivers , when every other league lets everyone race together?

i mean personally , i know im not in the top level of drivers on this game - whether that is in talent , speed , attendance , cleanliness(clean driving) , but that is something i accept - i dont go above and beyond to practice

but if you were to be placed in the bottom group(tier) would that drive you to become better , or drive you away??

we need more peoples input on this , we cant really move foward only hearing a few peoples opinions

I honestly believe that you can only follow/race with fast guys to hone in your skills and speed.My only thing is if a persons skill sets advance, will they then be regrouped ?

thanks for the input and good question greezy.We are thinking about the regrouping deal but as for right now the groups would be set.IMO the initial series using the ranking would be set for the entire season.Next series who knows.Depends on how good the initial series goes.using 3 very different cars for each tier would make it alot tougher for a driver to adapt that quickly if they did get moved up.If we did do the regrouping i would figure it would b best to run only 1 chassis but for this first 1 id really like to run 3 diff classes.

Makes perfect sense to my F1. Keep it simple , see what shakes out!! I'm in which ever way it ends up!

Why is mcgoo in tier 2???? he is one of the fastest and cleanest drivers out there.

Now this is just a quick deal but I wanted to see some responces

but ice i hope you plan on moving half the people from tier 2 to 3 due to the fact that lets say woods ... hes pretty god dam fast and geisler hes getting there just like me no where near to being as fast as woods the skill level would overrule the clean level i feel but ocf, j mac, geisler, tony, and maybe kev would be separate from a driver like woods, they all have less then 5 wins i think besides kev but me, geisler, tony, and ocf are always right there with kev at the midnight madness events, but for as woods, faschecker, gates, starnes, b34,jon, mcgee there right there with each other not so much for woods tho ice hes just as good as shock woods is clean and pretty dam smooth, i dont want this to turn out like the midnight madness series when bw is winning by 1000 points with like 1 more week of racing to go.. and i feel like woods would run away with it if he was in tier 2 with the people you listed in there
