what is better cordless or corded? or does it matter. it seems like my controller is delayed a little bit and was wondering if it was because it is cordless?

Note: This is reason for my bad driving or slow speeds at the track!!!!!!!!!!
still a rookie at this.
It is, what it is!!!!!!!

It could be man. I used to play halo on XBOX 360 and when i went to MLG (Major League Gaming) tournement everyone uses wired cont. Reason was no delay. So I believe this could be it.

idk if that would cause it to slow you down, sounds like it would more affect the reaction time between your cont and your car.

No but the delayed reaction time could cause him to miss his marks which then would cause slower lap times.

JFR_17, anything wireless has a limited view! Meaning, if something were to pass in front of your laser or the pathway from the wireless product, then your losing a small percentage of your reception. They also work off batteries, in which if the battery is low,it will limit your response time! With wired products, there are no pathways! Everything would be in a tunnel with no interference. With wireless products, you are on a open highway with many obstacles to cross your pathway! So, when you hit the gas pedal switch, it goes out the highway, and maybe a car (pack of smokes) got in the way, that would cause a delay. When wired, there are no obstacles and you get the clear highway!!! Throw the controller away!!! They are only for playing games like PAC-MAN and flying planes!!! If your going to race, then buy a wheel of www.amazon.com or @ your local www.BestBuy.com , slap the bad boy on your desk, hit the sapce bar till your in-car, and then enjoy the "REALISTIC" racing experience!!! You ever seen a race car with a controller for a steering device, and the driver sitting on the camera boom attached to the back of the car??? A good Logitech MOMO wheel costs a lil over $100 and the G27's are pretty salty, BUT you will be "RACING" not "FLYING" a race car!!!

A real racing exp? This game is far from real. I tried to run a wheel over here i cant do it. Seems the reaction time is too late for me. Its not that i cant drive cause i run a wheel in IRacing. But cant do it over here. Maybe if there was a way to get the latency out of the wheel i could. but until i figure it out ill stick with a cont. and o btw I,shock,JJ,Fly, and i believe JW all run cont. We seem to be doing ok on them

So what your saying is, it's way easier to drive with a cont than a wheel??? Well I like challenges, and I have NEVER drove a race car that was easy to drive!!! Like I said, do you see race car drivers using a flight controller from the camera boom on the back of their race cars. IMO if you beat me with a controller your not really beating me, your beating yourself. I tend to race pretty good with my wheel (when it wasn't broke and losing cali all the time) and don't say you don't lose cali with a controller cause Shock and others who use controllers leave after every hot lap session to fix the cali! You can't race a wheel on here???? And YES it's very realistic! It may be far from real for you, cause your outside sitting on the bumper using a flight controller, that would seem far from real to me too, but I run in-car, with a wheel using ony 1st gear (unless it's a big track) and have most of the effects on, so yes it's pretty real for me. as real as I can get without spending losta money!!! After driving mini sprints for the better part of 20 years and been driving Hobby and Street Stocks off and on for the last 10 years, I would say yes this is a pretty good experience for someone that can't afford a real car, and running in car with a wheel is bout as real as you can make it!!!

Ive ran iRacing as well and its about the only game out there that runs like dtr2. I can go from one to the other with no readjustment period. But you cant run a wheel and I cant run a controller but it dont really matter
So we finish 18 and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, 'Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know.' And he says, 'Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness.' So I got that goin' for me, which is nice

So wat i get from ur comment is im a shitty driver because i run a cont? And if i beat u im still trash cause i did it using a cont and driving outside the car. And also idk about them loosing cali but do u see me jumpin in and out of the server to go calibrate. NO. Hell i dont check the cali my cont stays plugged in and unless i unplug it for some odd reason i dont even go into the settings.

hmmmmm...... I can't find where I said you sucked!!!!! IMO we should all be on a wheel! Is it fair? IDK Is it easier?...IDK! do i care!.....no! All I am trying to state is that if he is going to race and wants "the most realistic fun" then to buy a wheel jeez!

ok first off this is an ARCADE GAME. Period not a simulation game. I mean the new xbox and ps3 racing games are more realistic than this. If you want a real experience i would pay for iracing or run rfactor or sce. My ps2 has racing games with better graphix. Now when this becomes a sim game. Which its not. Then u can preach to me about running a wheel. Other than that i dont give a fk wat u think.

I use a wheel and always have. But i dont know why it matters who uses what. It dont matter if you run dtr2, rfactor, nr2k3, iRacing or any other game. You can run either a wheel or a controller..Its really up to the person racing. People can be just as fast on either and I dont care what they are running im going to give em hell on my wheel :D
So we finish 18 and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, 'Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know.' that's what i was trying to say, I usually say so much it gets to looking like i am criticizing but i am not. I just think this as well as sce and other racing games that you can use a wheel on, would be the most realistic view and feeling as you can get. DTR2 has the best racing I have experienced online, I raced iracing, sce, and as many rfactor cars as I could, I did find that INDY car is AWESOME in rfactor, but they all have the same concept if your in car and on a wheel, yu have to pass and try to win. I don't knock anyone for using a controller, I ONLY say they are beating thierselves, because they are not getting the fullest racing experience, not because they suck, but becasue if they ran in-car and on a wheel, they would get that "rush" of being in a race car and challenging another driver in the corners without knowing where he is at, and expecting him to hold his line. from what I have seen from the "chase view", you can see 360* around you and able to keep on the throttle till you know you can't. with in-car you have to guess at that and time it right, and hope it works, you have no idea if your able to clear his nose till you do it and hit or miss. So no, I am not saying anyone sucks or cheats because they use a controller in chase view, I am only stating they are beating their selves out of a "Natural" high! I almost get the same feeling I got im my real cars, I just don't hurt as bad the next day!!!

Since when did Wheel start using a controller? His own words..."I've always used a wheel in driving games every since I was little, idk why I just like the feel of it."

I am pretty sure he use a wheel Lazy. LMAO I think this, because he has the same problems I do with it :S

I cannot run the in-car view in DTR2. I just dont have any feel for what the car is doing. In other games like iRacing and NR2k3 where you have to run the in car I have no problems. I dont know really what the difference is but in DTR2 I have to run the chase cam!

Thanks for the info jason!!and i would like to try my hand at using a wheel but they are too far out of my budget.. but you are saying that my inconsistency could possibly be caused by the wireless.
