Terre Haute, Indiana: 16 drivers from 13 states loaded up their haulers and made the trek to one of the most famous dirt tracks in America with the hopes of capturing the title of Spring Fling champion.

VLR_McGee would set the time to beat right out of the gate posting a blistering 14.01 quick time but he would have to sit, as some of the fastest cars in the country would take their turn to be the fast qualifier. Shock would be the next challenger and hit a 14.03, then Ice would take his shot but only muster a 14.08.

Doit5 would then come in and hit a 14.03 and take over 2nd in qualifying. Driver after driver would try to beat the 14.01 but VLR_McGee’s time would stand and he would win the $1000 bonus as the quick time setter.

Heat 1 would be an instant classic with McGee and Shock getting the jump on the field. However after a couple of cautions would bring Ice and Doit3 into the picture allowing McGee to pull away for the win. Shock would finish 2nd and Ice would gain the final transfer spot just in front of D3.

Heat 2 would see JW move from his 3rd starting position to the front with Doit5 right there with him as they crossed the line. Mason would find his way around DK for the 3rd and final transfer spot out of the heats.

The “Snicker’s” Dash would once again see McGee and Shock battle it out for the win. Doit5 would take home 3rd while JW would just edge out Ice for 4th. Mason would have some car issues and cross the line in 6th, thus setting up the 1st 6 positions in the Spring Fling “A” Main.

“C” Main action would see ERL_Turbo get the win followed by Rac. BLS_Superman would come home 3rd while Doit15 would get the last transfer spot out of the “C”. After the race Doit15 would come to the officials and explain that he had an issue with his bowels and would not be able to continue in the even thus giving F1yer the 4th transfer spot to the “B”.

Doit3 would start on the pole for the “B” Main and would never relinquish the lead. Superman would move from the 9th spot to finish 2nd and punch his way into the “A” Main. DK would bring home the Mountain Dew #23 home in 3rd and F1yer would move from 10th to 4th and get the final transfer spot for the 5th Annual Spring Fling.

10 cars would enter the 5th Annual Spring Fling knowing they were 100 laps from a $65,000 pay day and it would be fan favorite McGee who would lead them to the green with teammate Shock on his outside. McGee would get the jump on the field and Shock would find himself stuck on the high side and sliding back to 4th.

Doit5 and JW would move up to 2nd and 3rd. After a caution on lap 14 they would start back up with McGee and Doit5 swapping the lead back and forth until the caution was once again brought out on lap 21. On the restart McGee and Doit5 would pull away from the field and keep the fans excited, as Doit5 would not let McGee out of his sights.

Around lap 28 Ice would see his car start to fade as car after car would make their way around him and he would settle in 8th spot. By lap 50 McGee and Doit5 would have over a second lead on the field as these 2 seemed to get faster the harder they raced.

But the race for 3rd would be just as memorable as the leaders as JW, Shock, and Doit3 would swap the position. Between the battle for the lead and the fight for 3rd the fans would remain standing throughout the event. DK would join the battle for 3rd on lap 80 making it 4 drivers beating and banging for the 3rd spot.

Doit5 by this time was able to get a little breathing room over McGee until on lap 87 Doit3 and DK would make contact bringing out the 3rd caution of the evening and once again bunching up the field for a 13-lap shootout.

However the evening would be much of the same as Doit5 and McGee would jump out to a comfortable margin over 3rdnd and VLR_JW would come home 3rd. 4th place would go to Shock with Superman making a strong showing and finishing 5th. Ice would fade back to 8th and Mason would make his return and finish 9th.

F1yer would be involved in an incident and call it a night early and finish 10th. and these 2 would put on the best show in the 5 years of the Spring Fling. Doit5 would have the lead coming to the white flag and McGee would try everything he had in order to get around the Kansas driver.

In the end however McGee would stay true to form and run Doit5 very clean and Doit5 would cross the line and take home the title as Spring Fling 2k11 champion. McGee would bring home 2 place would be Doit3 with DK coming home in 7

After the race we caught up to Karl in victory lane. “All I can say is WOW!!! McGee gave me one of the best races of my life. I was just trying to run the perfect line because if I didn’t there would be another driver standing here in victory lane. I want to say thank you to McGee for being such a clean driver and I hope the fans all appreciate the show that was put on for them tonight.”

McGee came to Karl after the race to congratulate him on a hard fought win. “Karl deserved it tonight. I did all I could do with him and he was able to hit his marks and come away with the win. I sure wanted this one though.”

After that McGee went to his trailer only to be severely beaten by Mama T who was extremely disappointed in his 2nd place finish. McGee then came out of his trailer and said he fell down the stairs.

JW came home 3rd and seemed to be pretty happy with that result. “The top 2 guys was the class of the field tonight. We had a hell of a battle for 3rd for the longest time and I am absolutely worn out. To bad that race wasn’t for the lead.”

4th place finisher Shock also looked exhausted after the race “Man it seemed like I got a bad start and was never really able to recover. I could stay right with McGee in the heat and the dash but got pinched early and just couldn’t ever get clean air again to make a run at it.

Doit5 became the 4th driver in 5 years to win the coveted Spring Fling and will look to be the 1st repeat champion next year. I would like to thank all the drivers who made it out and do everything they can to make DTR2 the best “Racing” game out there. So until next year Good Fight, Good Night!!!
