Knoxville, Iowa (July 17 2013)- The Knoxville Raceway was worked in and ready to race by 9 o clock. The track was really racey with the bottom/ middle line proven to be the fast way around tonight.

Qualifying proved that Jok3r was the fastest as he set fast time with an incredible 13.63 seconds at the legendary Knoxville Raceway. Eric was second up for Qualifying. On the backstretch, his steering gear gave out, causing him to drive head on at about 120 mph to the outside wall causing a series of very violent flips. Eric was okay, but his car was junk.

With Eric in his back up car, Jok3r led the field down to the green. He pulled away right away as Eric did not quite have his car dialed in because of his big crash. Jok3r Ended up winning by almost 1 second in the 8 lap heat race

After the heat race, Tony Bokhoven caught up with the heat race winner.

(Tony). "You won your heat race by almost one second, how did the car feel and are you going to make any changes for the 20 lap Knoxville Nationals feature?"

(Jok3r). "The car was a little tight in the heat, which meant that I had to run more of the middle line, and I wanted to run the bottom, but the car other than that was great. We will free her up a bit and get ready for the big feature coming up later.

The A Main would start the same way as the heat race, with Jok3r getting out to the early lead and began to pull away. He got out to a one second lead by lap 10 and it stood like that until lap 15 when Eric slowly began to reel in the leader using the very bottom of the track. Eric used the berm to his advantage as he hooked his left front tire on it and cruised around the inside of the track. By the backstretch of the last lap, Eric had pulled aside of Jok3r. but Eric got a little loose in turn 3 giving Jok3r just enough to win by .05 seconds

After the race Jok3r said, "That was the best race I have ever raced in my life, It means so much to me to win at the famed Young Guns Series."

Eric said, "I took a wild ride in qualifying. I think that I may have a concussion, but that did not stop me from racing. The A Main had to have been one of the best races in DTR2 history. I just want to thank all of the fans for coming out tonight, and I hope you all come back next year for the 2nd Annual YGR Knoxville Nationals."
