DELMAR, DE. (June 19, 2011)- Race 2 of the annual Heat Wave tour saw 13 cars try their best to win at one of dtr2's most popular default tracks. Heat 1 saw Sparta, Michigan driver BLS_42 take the checkered flag followed by Bullhead City, Arizona's XCR 58 and Hindman, Kentucky racer JFR*4 taking the final transfer spots. ERL_Bulldog, Doit 10 and XCR Ax rounded out the field.

Doit 49 would take home the checkers for heat 2 with WFO Ice and VLR_McGee transferring. Doit 45, mf22 and IFRT_67r will have to contend for a spot in the consi. The dash saw BLS_42 and Doit 49 on the front row. After a minor mishap, BLS_42 went off the track and dnf'ed. Doit 49 would win once again followed by WFO Ice, VLR_McGee, XCR 58, BLS_42 and JFR*4.

The consi saw ERL_Bulldog and Doit 45 start up front of the 7 car field. Doit 10 would see the checkers first followed by Doit 45, VLR_Shock and ERL_Bulldog. XCR Ax, mf22 and IFRT_67r would head home early.

The feature would start lineing up with the starting grid as follows: Row 1 - Doit 49 and WFO Ice, Row 2 - VLR_McGee and XCR 58, Row 3 - BLS_42 and JFR*4, Row 4 - Doit 10 and Doit 45, Row 5 - VLR_Shock and ERL_Bulldog.

The green flag flew and Doit 49 was ready to boogie as he would take the lead out of turn 2. A battle for third leads to chaos as BLS_42 moves up a bit making VLR_McGee move up into XCR 58, sending him through the backstretch area but never missing a beat as b58 would quickly get back on the track although being shown in 10th.

A few laps later a bump from JFR*4 would send BLS_42 off the track ending 42's night. Up front Doit 49 still has a commanding lead with WFO Ice and VLR_McGee fighting for second. Later on in the race JFR*4 would hit the backstretch rail going into turn 3 in a wreck that would also collect XCR 58, while ending JFR*4's night.

Spartanburg, South Carolina's VLR_McGee finally gets past WFO Ice as now they start feeling pressure from Doit 10. After these three ride along trying to catch Doit 49 something unbelievable happens. Entering turn 4 the leader Doit 49 spins all alone allowing VLR_McGee to slip by and inherit the lead.

Doit 49 who is irate is sent back to 5th behind VLR_Shock. In his infuriated state he gives a big bumper to Shock with four laps to go that almost sends Shock around. ERL_Bulldog spun and unnerved the leaders by putting it in reverse almost right in front of them but Bulldog took himself out of the racing groove just in time.

VLR_McGee would see the checkers for the 2nd time in his career at XCR's Premier Series and his first of the young season. WFO Ice finished a very close second and Doit 10 finished a very close third. VLR_Shock gave it back to Doit 49 on the final lap by shoving 49 into the wall out of turn 4 after swerving to avoid a lap car in the inside line and taking fourth place. Doit 49 would end up fifth after the Canadian driver was headed well on his way to his first career victory in dtr2.

Doit 45 would finish a respectable 6th, XCR 58 despite all the incidents ended up 7th, ERL_Bulldog finishes 8th in his first ever feature at XCR. JFR*4 and BLS_42 would take home 9th and 10th respectively after earlier incidents sent their cars on the trailer early.
