Corning, IA (August 7, 2011) - Adams County Speedway hosted race 9 of the 12 race series with 18 cars signing in.
Doit 49 took the checkers in heat 1 with BLS_42 taking 2nd.
In heat 2, Doit 45 took the win with XCR 58 coming in 2nd.
Heat 3 had VLR_Shock winning with JFR*4 taking the final transfer.
In the dash, Doit 49 wins and hopeing to sweep the night. Doit 45 ended up 2nd with VLR_Shock, BLS_42, XCR 58 and JFR*4.
In the C Main, JFR*97 takes the win with Doit 10, JFR*17 and IFRT_67r taking the transfers. IFRT_14 and lastplace loaded up early.
In the Consi, JFR*Jim took the checkers with VLR_McGee, VLR_Amp and BLS_Jsn taking the transfers. Doit 10, Squirrel, JFR*17, JFR*97, IFRT_67r and DT77 all came up short.
The feature starts with Doit 49 taking the lead but a warping car haults the race 8 laps in. The restart saw Doit 49 again moving out to the lead but Doit 45 and JFR*4 put heavy pressure on him early. Now JFR*Jim and VLR_McGee move in, the top 5 running inches apart. JFR*4 gets freight trained back to 7th and now Doit 45 takes the lead with Doit 49 under attack by Jim.
Jim makes his move and takes over 2nd with McGee making his move on Tony for 3rd. Shock tries making a move on Tony but gets hit by Amp with JFR*4 hitting Shock afterwards. JFR*4 moves up and pounds the side of Amp's car allowing XCR 58 to get by as well.
Up front McGee makes a move and passes Jim for 2nd, Doit 45 has about a 7 car length lead. The race is on for fifth between 5 cars beating and banging each other. Amp clips JFR*4 making JFR*4 bounce off the wall.
Now Shock tries making his move by nearly crushing Jason. Fifth through eighth were side by side Shock finally gets past Bullet but Bullet comes back and when cleared Jason comes and blasts Shock in the left rear causing Shock to turn sideways.
Jason now gets passed Bullet but Bullet gets in too hot and turns Jason into the infield allowing Shock and Amp to pass. The back half of the field would all end up with bruised and battered racecars after this one was over.
Up front it was Doit 45 who had built a comfortable lead, but he suddenly decided it was time to try to get a little more out of his car with VLR_McGee closing in on him and found himself shifting into reverse in the corners and losing the lead. Once he came out of the spin he was in seventh place and lost what looked to be a sure win with just five laps to go.
At the same time the battle for fourth heats up but Amp spins in turn 2. After going off course near the start BLS_42 now gets involved with this battle despite being over a straightaway behind with 20 laps to go.
The checkered flag waves and McGee gets his 2nd win of the season. JFR*Jim gets his career best 2nd and Tony ended up 3rd. Shock manages to find his way to a 4th place finish and coming around nearly 3 wide, JFR*4 brought home 5th, BLS_42 got 6th, XCR 58 ended up 7th. After a hard luck incident Doit 45 ended up 8th, Jason was 9th and Amp got the 10th and final spot.
"Dadgum I tell ya what this is real good stuff right here," said an emotional VLR_McGee in victory lane, as he wiped away tears. "I don't know what happened to ol' mav, but when you're up against this good of drivers you will take 'em anyway you can get 'em. This sure is a good un for me and I'm sorry for choking up, dadburnit."
Second place JFR_Jim was confused as to how he finished second after the race, but was nonetheless happy. "Huh, who are you guys?" Jim said to the camera's which were uncharacteristically asking him for an interview following his second place finish, "Oh, you mean I got second, really? Uh, I don't know what to say, this never happens. I thought I was a lap down really, trying to catch McGee and get the lucky dog. That's wild man, didn't know I was actually second. Looks like a party at my place tonight!"
Doit*49 was fresh off a win in the rookie series at this track and came home a strong third, however the feisty Canadian driver was not happy. "What a teammate. Mav just drove me off the track to pass me. That's just stupid. I'd like to ring his neck. F*ck mav and F*ck Aruba, it's a stinky country. Oh and f*ck Greenland, too, bunch of hicks."
VLR_Shock crossed fourth after starting last after a restart and was also unahppy despite advancing six spots. "Yeah I see I got fourth but I don't feel like I accomplished anything. Idiots were just knocking me to the back every other lap and I guess they were wrecking each other too. I'm not real sure how I got fourth but it could've been worse, I guess. I've been to cleaner demo derby's than this!"
BLS_Jsn finished ninth but chased down the cameras to give his thoughts on VLR_Shock after the race, "*(@#& (#*& @&#^ ^@*#&^@# bitch Shock (#* &# like to beat his *(#&$ &#@ @$$ ugh ahpsdfoiwruetesportiuwouwe. Love you Shock, I want to father your babies!"
