UMP National Points Championship style format? 9 years 6 months ago #66314

Since my internet sucks and I cant really race online but would still like to do something I was thinking of a UMP National Championship style type of format that would go something like this.

• Late Model races ONLY count towards the National Championship (Gen 5, UMP Hell LM, SUPR, SUPR Topless, SDLM, SDLMvtw, CLM). (If I missed any please let me know.)

• Series that will count for points VLR, VLOLM, ICE, SDC, and SRF. (If you don’t want your series to count tell me and I won’t count it. If your series isn’t included and want it to count tell me, and I will include it. )

• Any non sanctioned Late Model special events will count for points.

• Season lasts from June 1st to August 31st.

• 11 PM and fun runs will NOT count towards points

• Best finish of week will count for points (only one)(Sunday- Saturday)

• Race results posted in a complete results format are appreciated. (ex. VLR Race results).

• If there are two or more B Mains 1st non transfers both get 30 points, 2nd non transfers both get 28 points and so on.

• Point standings will be updated every Sunday

POINTS SYSTEM
1. 50
2. 48
3. 46
4. 44
5. 42
and so on
21- 10 points

Cool idea man. Reminds me of what Bullet used to do. I say go for it.

The first vibe I got from this is its a recreation of that thing Bullet did back in August. Sun-Thurs shows counted, there were 3 un-used days that month and we filled them with 3 completely different races using different cars, tracks and formats and they all counted for the point standings. I actually think Ranger won that.
A main wins: 151*'

B main wins: 50

C main wins: 5

D main wins: 1

Dash wins: 133

Heat race wins: 339***

Championships: 15*

I'll have any final adjustments set by the end of the week as I'm using the first few weeks this month as a test run.

In another test I've found a way to maybe take your best so many races during the season, and from what's scheduled so far there are right around 50 Late Model races from June 1st to August 31st. So I'm thinking a good number might be 30ish. But not set on anything yet.
