Is it my imagination or do track announcers at most dirt tracks talk about 1385% more than they used to??? At Williams Grove last Saturday and found out one of the drivers races turtles in his spare time. Getting to the point when picking where to sit, looking for biggest gap in speakers.

I think most believe that they are the next Dave Despain or Mike Joy. When in reality, they at best ,could be the next men's room attendant for a minor league baseball team.

Shut up. Give the lineup, read the 50/50 ticket number. Nobody pays good money to listen to you talk. In fact, if there was no announcer at all , it would have zero effect on the paid admission. You are not the show. I miss the old timers who knew their role.

also, the WoO Late models are at Selinsgrove this weekend. Almost done with the modifications to my Pop Up, so that it will be a 50 foot tower I will park up on the hill.

I also love when they try to announce during the race when 24 late models come roaring by... Do they really think we can hear them?

Announcers is the only reason i went to local tracks and one of the reasons i started racing myself. After years of growing up listening to the smooth sounds of Rayford Jackson III announce late model races at Antioch Speedway i got the itch to hear my name roll off his devilish tongue.I raced about 10 years and had my ex wife record the races on her old cassestte player so i could see if he mentioned my name, which he did quite a few times. After he retired, i retired with him and havent been back since.Sometimes when im racing dtr2 offline ill get the white flag and hear good ol Raplh Shaheen and have to spin around and take the white again hoping to hear my fav announcer Rayford Jackson III come out of my pc speakers in Ralphs place.

ATTENTION ATENTION!!! WE CANT FKN HEAR YOU SO STFU!!!! I like the announcers at Kokomo, but when the cars are running, there is no way we can hear them. You can hear the sprints all the way to my house and I live across town from the track, and they use those little outdated Sony speakers that we used to have in the basement for surround sound that you had to sit by to hear them. Other than that, the few minutes of the night we can hear Mr. Bowman talk, he is really fun to listen to. He knows his history and that makes for great entertainment!
