I am a veteran in DTRSC and DTR1 but pretty new to DTR2, I live in Australia(so I am sure I will have to race at crazy times)

What should i do first, been running offline for a while now looking to come online and see how I go.

Few questions, where can i run?? Anyone able to point me in the direction of some good sites for newbies and downloads and what not??

hi RKJ ..he made it short & sweet alot more u need , for starters ur ping is or maybe an issue from aussie , try to get that stable by gettin end it all & game booster also try this site out ...www.freewebs.com/sbbr/help.htm
get the other vents that u found here & get a mic , also add people to, if u dont have, get it yahoo messenger that way u can send stuff quick, like track or sets etc .
& like he said run browser ,...that way we can ask is ur game at 100 % realism , do u have ur tear -offs OFF .,what do u steer with & we can point u in direction to go get some good setups , best of luck , always welcome newbies , alotta guys here will help ya just ask

if you dont know already , a good place to start is by adding the folders to the game that are needed for tracks and skins

follow this path : my comp - cdrive - games - infogrames - dirt track racing 2 - data - inside the data folder make sure you have :
cars - the folder where chassis go
skins - folder for skins
track - folder for tracks

usually for browser racing , default or Gen5 late models
browser you dont NEED to have ventrilo or a mic/headset
when you want to run a league you will need ventrilo - found here (free) - www.ventrilo.com/
and to use ventirlo fully , you will need a mic/headset to talk with everyone

like sq said make sure you have your game tuned for online racing - 100% realism , no tearoffs

those are the basic steps , once you get comfortable with all that , get used to using this site a lot - when you need a track or chassis to race in browser or a league

in the community menu tab listed above , there is a dtr2 schedule page , that has almost every race listed with chassis track and league , date and time

and dont hesitate to ask questions on here , there isnt much that cant be figured out by someone t help get you pointed in the right direction

Thanks for the replies guys, i already had the folders setup(same as DTRSC) and have downloaded ventrillo, will need to look into getting a headset, mic I guess. Already have enditall2 and use that whenever i start my computer.

Had realism set to 100, have to turn off tearoffs though still. I will go download yahoo messenger now so that will help and then I will look to get in the browser I guess.

Quick question is it ok for now to run leagues without a mic or is that a no go??

all depends on who is runnin the league
some leagues wont let you run with out a mic , especially since your new
some leagues dont care

its nice to have a mic so you can call a restart in a league race if needed

I would love to try and run tonight, is it best to turn up and ask if no mic is ok??

Looks like my ping is going to be an issue, I have done everything suggested on that site, I have ran enditall and I now am using game booster and my ping is still in the 240's, is there anything else I may be able to do??

not really being down there , u can maybe see if ur warpin ..if u can hold ur ping steady u may be ok but i doubt it , most leagues want ping under 125

I ran with Dunny and N30 in the browser today and they said that it was fine, but that was only with 3 of us. So I don't know

There is one thing you can do. If you truly love dtr2 you will move to the USA
