To pack files ????????

again, I ask why? there is no reason to look at the packed files in DTR. there is only 1 reason why someone would want to alter the operating information of the game. everything useable has already been unpacked and being used like default tracks, cars, ai, ect.
where do you think we came up with the add-on tracks and cars. they all came from original game files at some point. Noone has made anything from scrach with the exception grafhical content, every track and car has been edited to be what it is. Sorry for going on about this but when someone asks for a pf extractor, Im wondering why. The pf files are compressed with a proprietary 460 rar format it can be unpacked but cannot be repack with the standard zipp programs. It took me 4 years to find the right program to compress .pf files. as tight as they need to be formated for game recognition. good luck with your endevors.

Interesting. Not able to do much about DTR2 at present but Karl..; you've made an interesting discovery there; fella... Wow...!! I have toyed with the idea of adding in a Season like a driver that races out of his home track with different meets as well as away meetings such as various series run by other tracks plus championships which is missing (in a way) from the game whereas the Outlaw Sprintcar game which I have got uses this very concept and you made the choice of Series that you entered into in the one season. Good for the offliners.

I know we're talkin more in maybe Interfacing by adding another option to the menue of the game; but could it be done and whether the files like the Series files could be enlarged or still used the same way; but if the pf contents could be slightly altered and it worked...? Hey....

Just thought I'd add my Penny's worth in, seeming I don't get on here a lot. Thanks to Race13 for the Thread and to you Karl for your Post....

I haven't forgotten you all... Just so busy with a lot of committments on my old 1920 Villa in Gizzy so I can get the heck outta' here !!! (Kaiti, GISBORNE in NZ).... Plus I don't have my old DTR2 files after the hardrive went belly up and all those years of working on them but I'm so glad I shared some with you all... I still have the dual core HD and when I get into some money; I wil get someone to drag off my files. I will get back to DTR2.

Happy New Year to you Karl and all that dwell in VLR.
