I have been trying to teach them in the browser, but a few of them just don't get it. When I have control of the server it makes a big difference the way they drive, they have no dought ill boot them from the game.

I say ban all the PPL<
that cant drive or dont care bout racin!!!! It has drove a lot of good racers away from the leagues. It aint NO FUN when you trying to get outta the throtle to make a good lap then a car comes screaming up on ya and blasts ya from a half lap back!!!! The way I see it, you should know yourself that your racing with competitors NOT THE AI, and if you can't cum within .05 of the fastest car, you really don't have a chance. Most of the GOOD RACERS are gone now. They were here 6 months ago, then all of the sudden 10 10 year olds cum in and fk the game all to hell!!!! BLS used to have at least 5 show up for leagues, now it's down to just about KEVin & Me, others said fk it itaint no fun to run 49 laps just to get killed by some idiot trying to turn around on the last lap after hgitting a tire or sumin!!! MY $.02!!!

I agree Jason , i have cut back wayyyyy back on leagues races because of this, it's so upsetting that when you know your car is competative and you get taken out of competition because of boneheads!Lets face it , nowadays when you get back 5 or so seconds with the level of competiton its almost impossible to catch back up period, so to save that frustration i just Escape out and leave!

It's these kids. I seriously will not race anymore because of them. I hate to not take part in the game, Because like all of you, I love the game. I get to the point where I would knock the hell out people if it wasn't behind a computer..When you get in that shape I guess it's time to quit and I did. What gets me is...I set hours, just to play a game and race. Put off a lot of (bleep), then bam either 1 lap in or 1 lap to go, Get wrecked..I understand some of us have TONS more time that others but FFS. Something has to be done...No way in hell there is that many accidents. When I first got on VLR, It was always great, occasionally you would get a racing deal or someone mad and hit someone. Nothing near what it is today. Not even close. If the driving has really went down that bad since I started then, It would be in every best interest to go to RF or something, Unless like I said you got plenty of time to tolerate the non-driving son of a bitches now.

Re: hey dtr2 12 years 2 months ago #39899

Guys,
When I started, you had to be on a team to run leagues. Even after I was on a team someone (i think it was JSN) had to vouch for me to run DOIT the first time. I'm not that good and I know it, but I respect other racers and there line. I normally wont duke it out with someone trying to get thru if they are way faster. Do I make a mistake now and then? you bet and we all do. But reckless driving like there's noone else on the track and just running over their heads and all over isn't good for the league or the game. For those guys I suggest run the browser, run the rookie races, get some more seat time.

If you do not think someone is ready to run a league race then speak up and ask that they run some more, and come back after some seat time (respectfully).

But in the same respect, let's get the new guys up to speed. Help them understand that this game and forum can be a great place and good drivers help the slower or in somecases less patient drivers. If the game isn't fun then folks will start leaving, and we will be left with the slam bangin newbs. And I don't mean anything toward the new guys, we were all new once. But if I started getting rough I was put in my place (respectfully), and given a few tips. Good drivers spent time in the browser running for fun (remember fun... no pressure / no points) and kept things rolling smooth. They gave tips to the slower and out of control folks. Just today there was somone in the browser that had no idea or didnt care about browser etiquette.

Shock / Karl... someone used to have the Newbie guide posted. It was one of the first things that came up in a google search for DTR2 (I found it on DOIT when I first started). Lets get that posted agian... It had a ton of great info for the new guys and made things a little better for the seniors running the browser. Let's try to show them the way instead of beating them down or cussing at them.

It's ultimately up to the leagues to get back on track with who can and cannot race. I think if the promoter sticks to his guns, enforces rules and weeds out the slower or out of control guys, that will force them to get more seat time to be able to run. Run more rookie races. Hold the rookies to the same standards. They will get better.

Now we are 4cents deep JSN :)

I would suggest that each newbie run browser for one year, with some of us experienced racers being there mentor and teach them exactly what it take to first be a memeber or a team and also race privatley. When i first joined a team i was asked, i never once bugged no one, i felt that these experienced guys would let me know when the time was right , i never went in vent nor private servers, Rb was actually the one that asked me to join XRT, honestly i did not feel like io was worthy of it at the time a put him off a week or 2 i believe.all you have to do is be honest with yourself , we all know what we are truely capable of so lets not make ourselves out to be something we know deep down we are not.

All you youngsters need to take this game at heart , be honest with yourselves, Are you really worthy to be running any league races ? dont you think that browser racing is more your speed ? Be honest guys you dont have the experience to avoid wrecks, You must first learn how to wreck to not know how to wreck, funny as it sounds its the truth, you gotta know when to hold'em and know when to fold'em!

The problem with them running in browser to learn is that there is barely ANYBODY in browser that runs leagues. I never see Shock in browser, I never see Jsn in browser, I never see Kev in browser. And the list goes on and on. If there ever is anybody that has a decent idea of what they're doing that could possibly help somebody wanting to learn, they are in a room with 1-2 other people and the room is locked down so nobody can get in. I check every now and again when I have time and I want to race some just for the hell of it. I go in and theres 3 people in one room, names pushing the limits on # of characters that can fit on the screen, in 2 more rooms theres maybe 1 or 2 guys in each, running pro stocks at some of the not so great default tracks, then you get 3 guys in a room running default setups that kick those with setups. Don't anybody tell me I'm wrong because I've been there and seen it all. Its a very rare occurance that any one of the top guys in leagues is in the browser.

Heres my best idea I can come up with right now on the spot: With the annual racing season starting to come to a close, I say when its almost all said and done, we take Saturday and make it browser day for like 2-3 months. Have no league races on that day of the week and run mainly in the browser. Like that there will be pretty equal numbers of guys that know what they're doing that can teach what they know, guys who have a pretty good idea but still learn some new things now and then, and the ones that know very little that need to learn.

I see more people complaining about those that aren't as good than I do people trying to help those that aren't as good as they are. If you see somebody that is wrecking quite abit and just doing alot of no-brained driving, instead of coming on here and bitching and whining about them or cussing up a storm in vent, TAKE THEM ASIDE SOMETIME AND TEACH THEM SOME THINGS! Nobody is going to get any better by somebody doing nothing but complaining. And when you do get wrecked, you have to remember that this is racing. There are absolutely no places that I know of where they don't have a wreck now and then. So when it happens, just move on to the next race and keep going! Back last year I remember Jsn having about a month-long stint where he was getting wrecked almost every race. But yet here he still is showing up to almost every race there is. This past month, I've been wrecked and caused a few wrecks, but yet here I still am. I know I can only get better by racing with the top guys. Because the top guys generally run clean and being around that you learn from that. Throwing all those that only know how to beat and bang their way to the front together means they will only learn that from each other and then those that come in new that start in browser will also only be learning how to beat and bang to the front and we're going to have more to put up with like that here instead of more people that want to be fast and clean. Those potential drivers that come in new will only see what goes on in browser and will quit right there not wanting to put up with being wrecked. So getting rid of the problem in one spot and moving it to someplace else does not remove the problem completely.

thats a starting poiint ill run browser some but another prob is type cars u ganna run browser i learned to race in default but g5 are new class and i guess we could run them there or have each driver make a profile kinda on experince on and offline age and wins if any ext... then clas them in a catagory to help them i belive if u want learn how drive u need start in lower class to get experince stocks and 4 bangers are good for biggners then move each driver up when meet the class requiments there alote ideas out there just need put them together and coome up with sutibale learning plan for racing

You have to learn to walk before you can run. I learned on defaults too. Everybody should learn on the default cars. When I first started, I had absolutely no interest in league racing. I wanted to run default cars on default tracks. I don't know about everybody else, but when I first start something, I don't want to have to go download 40 different things just to have fun. Whats fast at Lernerville or OCFS or Attica means nothing to me if I only want to run Terre Haute and Spindale. We can't expect guys that don't know how to have their own custom skin to be able to download everything to be able to race at each league race that week when they just figured out how to play under single player 3 days ago.

Well i usaly try not to get in this fourum but here is my 2 cents on this topic,When i first got this game in 2006 i raced ofline and won the champianship in mods before i ever went online. Then i went to the browser for a few weeks and late 1 nite i was in the browser with xpress and he invited me on JCR.As far as my thinkin on this game u have to make friends,If u have 2 friends and 25 peeps that cant race with u u will not make it here.In the past 2 weeks i have sent my sets (well they arent realy my sets as i dont realy make them) all 23 mb of them to many of these young cannons.Has it helped them?I dont know but i do know that i try to help them anyway i can.I have took many of them to a room in vent to talk or other to teach them a few things. When i came back 8 months ago i was lucky to make it out of the c main.If i had a good starting spot but knew i sucked and was gonna wreck the field i went to the back.If i could pass the car infront of me clean i did if not oh well i finish last. These days if the top guys are hitting 12.65 and a rookie hits 12.70 1 lap out of 5000 they think there gonna win the race.In reality when u are in a pack your not gonna hit 12.65,u are gonna cause a big ass wreck tring to hit it.As far as the browser every time i go there its a mess.Well thats all i got i have most of these newbs on yahoo and i have told them any help they need i will give um wat i got including any set that i am running at any race.

Can or find yourself like this>>>> :silly: Seriously tho, it is racing and accidents happen..we're all human and mistake prone. I try n help new guys as much as I can, but honestly some just don't care or seem to want to race clean or get any better. I still will run browser, tho and help the one's that I feel legitimately want 2.

as many of "these kids" play in the forum hopefully they can read this topic good enough to know how everyone feels about how their affecting this game.Hopefully they will get the point and clean it up ASAP.Getting new people is great for DTR2 but quality is way better than quantity. But onto another topic, how many of these people who have "quit league racing" would run a closed league if these kids where banned?
Better eat them fuckin vitamins kiddies.

probably dont have much room to talk cause i havent raced in four years till last week for the first time. but when i started you had to be on a league or be asked to run with the team so i ran browser for about six seven months then i was asked by hsr*ty if i was lookin to be on a team.but when i started you had guys that could race clean and if they did take you outthey would give your spot back or just back out but you always have the guys that couldnt drive there way out of a wet paper bag and it was the same way in rfactor and iracing or pretty much every racing game so you just try to help them out dont now how much you really helping but atleast your trying to make them better never know one of those non driving dicks could be the next champ
