Are you going to drive or your dad?
So we finish 18 and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, 'Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know.' And he says, 'Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness.' So I got that goin' for me, which is nice

actually it sucks to be your Dad, that motor and trany is prolly gonna break him. No way to go around having a fast competitive modified without sinking at least $20,000 in just the motor. Let alone the cost of the tranny(s). Parts are very expensive especially for rollers, then you need to buy a fire suit, hans device, new seatbeltstraps every year, and couple different rear ends to use on smaller or bigger or slicker or tackier tracks. I been racin all my life and it has cost the car owners ALOT of money, especially when we wasn't winning! I tried to get myself a street stock to run at Kokomo, but just driving that cost way to much to rn a partial schedule let alone a full one and my wife and I have pretty good jobs!!! GFL 2 Ya, hope you guys have fun!!! Get ya all the sponsors you can get, that will help tremendously. I had a tire, gas, and parts stores for my sponsors, they paid entry fee, paid for tires, and bought the gas. Parts Store gave us a BIG discount on parts!!!! My Boss retired last year, leaving without a ride for my first full year of no racing (got to drive a couple street stock races) but when he told me how much it costs to just run 1 900 mini sprint, I knew I couldn't afford it. Hope ya'll can get some good sponsors to drop costs down, becuase right now, racing fuel is very expensive and racing engines are off the charts!!!! HAVE FUN is the most important thing, and it's a GREAT time to bond with your pops!

OH YA!!!! DON"T WRECK IT!!!!! That WILL break ya!!!!

Good luck with your modified Dirt! Fas is right Shaw chassis are good but also for a Mod around here people are more partial to a Bob Pierce chassis, they do well on these southern tracks! Me and my dad just went half and half and bought a street stock rolling chassis and bought our old motor back from my uncle that has set up for 2 seasons but its all new, Dart Iron Eagle heads, Eagle 42lb crank, Mahle pistons, H-beam 6" rods and all that good stuff. I'm racing on a budget too Jason, without the help of my dad I wouldn't be able to do it again and i'll probably still be on a limited schedule cause of work and all but I still can't wait to strap back in and let her dig. I'll post some pics as soon as we go pick the car up tomorrow and get it home and as we make progress on it. Again good luck to you Dirt, Mods should be a fun class, is this gonna be your first time racing a full frame car?

You guys got that right. You better have some deep pockets to race with the big boys. I was sponsered By Whitlock Auto Supply for 10 years and United Auto Parts for the last 5 years I raced, thank god they both had lots of money. I never drove a Shaw chassis or a GRT but I did have the pleasure to out run them both with my local chassis builder Charlie Laing. His cars won me several championships. Anyways I found this old coke cup in my moms old stuff she passed away in 1986, the cup is from Speedways INC it is 28 years old I just thought you might recognize some of the names on it. sry for changing the subject.

Erik, you shouldn't have to prove anything to anyone on here, especially BLS_3, we all know you raced in the past and we also all know that your getting a new car, anyone who is friends with you on facebook knows, sounds to me like BLS_3 is just one of those ones who has nothing better to do then try to put someone down who's half his age, a keyboard bully is what I like to call them! Quit lettin people like him with nothing better to do get to you man. Let the haters hate bro
