Downloaded the gen 3 for painting but its only the texture. Doesn't have the skin.str file. How do I get my skin in the game without it?

you can add the skin.str from any other gen3 skin...just copy it, paste it in your new skin folder and then open the .str file, make sure the line that says "car = DW_NSDRA_etc" is put to the right chassis you want the skin on...then under display name make sure you put the name of the skin to what you want but it must be different than any other skin already in the game or it wont show. and then save and that should be all...hope this helps

ok i'm not familiar with the different errors lol but, is your template done to the right aspect ratio? and is it the correct template for the chassis? other than all this i dont think i know what to tell you with out seein what the issue is...if you want email me the skin you made and i'll take a look at it and can tell ya more or can fix it for you or whatever you need.

Thats just it. I cant open it to try do paint it. When I try to open the template it gives me that error message.

are you using the right program? using paint shop pro 7 or adobe photoshop cs3? those are the only two i know of that work for making skins because the final has to be put in a .tga format

You can use what ever program ya want as long as u save it as 24uncompressed and .tga. As for the error reinstall the program u are using. i use to get it with psp10 alot. thats why most use photo shop and psp7 now. i use to use paint to do my skins till i found psp7 and 8 . if ya want ill send you the right template that is real easy to use and it will even work on dtr2 LM just buy changing thing .str files. im on yahoo all the time.
