Before advancing on my other 2 tracks I figured it would be best to work on my skills in rhino. This is what I have right now, I started with knoxville and shrank the track down to a 3/8. I still have alot to do on the track but I thought I'd show off what I got. Going to have to watch shocks video on the black flags and get that taken care of.

Sweet! Good idea to start with something easier. The third video which covers black flags somewhat is pretty short so it should be quick to grasp. In fact, only the last 5 or 10 minutes of the video cover black flags so you should be able to figure it out pretty quick. The track looks good and I'm sure will look better with a paint job to make it look even less like Knoxville. Is the shape still the same as Knoxville and only the size is smaller?

The overall shape is still the same, I suck in the infield and raised the banking a good bit although it doesn't seem like much when you are racing on it. I'm thinking some red clay will go good on the track. The biggest pain so far has been figuring out what is a wall and what is not. I started from your black track so some of the things I thought was walls turned out to be billboards or nothing (they didn't show up in the game) The wall is gone in turn 3 and most of 4, a little less than half the back stretch wall is gone as well. The track has alot of room for racing.

Yeah it has a lot of billboards which look like walls. But the walls at Knoxville are made in alp so that's probably one reason why you couldn't move them...

A little update on my track, which now has a name: Evansdale Speedway

I've started working on the textures of the track and 90% of my Rhino work is done. I'll be working on the alp and black flag after I get the textures done.

Yeah that's very very good looking McClung...I think you have what it takes to be the next great track maker. The track looks great already and I hope to see you figure out how to add alp in there to make a crowd and lights and stuff. I'm glad to see the tutorials have helped out a couple people at least.

Keep us updated with pics and details please! Did you figure out how to fix the black flags yet?

A small update on the track, I have all the de2 editing done and have fixed my black flag issue. I'd say 95% of my texture editing is finished. The only thing I've found that is going to kill me on time is the alp file. The rhino program I have has let me do everything but copy the items dealing with the alp file. I'm thinking I'm just going to have to work with what was already on the track. I haven't worked with the gripping yet, I think I'll save that for last.

I always do grip last. What kind of problems are you having with Alp in Rhino? Like what happens when you try to copy something?

Here is the error I get whenever I try to copy a light from the alp file

I had downloaded a patch that was suppose to unlock the full version, apparently it didn't.

Alright the track is almost complete, about the the only thing that is left is gripping the track. I do have an issue with the barrier that goes around the track keeping cars from getting back on the track after they go off. If this problem cant be fixed than I'll more than likely add a wall around the entire track or bring the hidden barrier back up so you can't go off the track.

I may release a beta version while I work on gripping the track. That part could take me some time.
