You know I've had about 50 people ask to use our servers and vent in the past 2 weeks it seems like, for leagues I've never even heard of. I've told them all the same thing, if the server or vent is up, you can use it. But damn it would be nice if someone would donate every now and then if they could spare a dollar or two. There's no advertising on the site so it's not exactly paying for itself. And I don't mind paying for it but it seems like everyone is looking for a handout and don't want to show any appreciation other than just saying "thanks man" or something like that. I'm not mad or anything but it's a bit aggravating to be asked daily "can we use ur servers and vent???" There's a donation button on the home page...

I know I'm one of the ones that makes use of the servers and believe me I'm grateful for it. And this site is hands down the best on for DTR2 as far as I'm concerned. Without this site and your servers, this game would probably have gone away a long time ago.

When you google Dirt Track Racing 2, after all the sites that are "selling" it and all the video game sites saying they have cheat codes for it, this site is the first one that comes up. (At the bottom of the 1st page. Alot of sites saying you can buy the disc....I just googled to be sure.)


Believe me Shock, I'd donate if I had any faith in putting money in the internet. I'd much rather meet up in person and hand you the money. I said the same thing to DB one night. I'd like to donate but in person instead of hundreds of miles away.

ive tried to give shock money many times and he always refuses it because if it wasnt for me being on here he wouldnt have anyone to share his superior intellect with.

It's cool man. It's more a public broadcast. If 20 people donated $2 a month everything would pay for itself...

I hear the same thing Shock.All the time.Only difference is I often say no.Not because I'm trying to be a harda** but simply because I believe its not right for one person to have to pay for something then someone else come and use it for nothing.It also helps to bring out the true character of an individual.I've said no before and then suddenly the one I said no to starts talkin sh*t about what a pr*ck i am.Than they cry and whine because I dont put up with thier BS.They know who they are and thier still around,and still bumming.The way I see it is if someone wants to own a League and host a series then they too should have to go the same way we did and pay for a site and servers and vent.I remember when I donated to VLR to use your servers.I wouldnt dream of asking you or anyone else to let me use for free what you payed for.The only reason I bought my own if you remember they kept killing the servers all the time and I hated having to bother you on a constant basis to reboot them.Even after you gave me access to the admin I felt bad because I worried when I was gonna mess somethin up.So I just finally decided I would just pay for my own and the rest is history.
Since I created the Race'n Nation I have done everything I could to keep from taking anything away from VLR. For example;I dont use keywords,I dont advertise on google or link to facebook or any other social networking sites.I try to fly under the radar at all times even though I know that dosent help to get the word of the Race'n Nation out there.I hav'nt put downloads on the site.I send folks to VLR or IFRT for tracks.Whatever I can do to stay under the radar and try not to take away from VLR I have tried to do,while still yet trying to maintain a community site and series.The midnight madness series has averaged 15-20 cars a night with close to 60 diff. cars a month.but yet we have recieved only 2 donations.VLR_JW made a 25.00 donation and JFR_97 made a 30.00 donation and both were very much appreciated.I have never asked for anything either they just volunteered and they both came as a surprise.It does help! Every little bit helps! In the past 6 mths alone I have spent over 1100.00 and in light of the situation am seriously thinking of downgrading to the single core 30.00 a mth servers too.I know how frustrating it can be when people constantly ask to use the servers but dont want to help you to pay for them.I've been told 100 times that "I'll donate" but nothin ever comes.Like I said the only ones that donated never spoke a word or asked for a thing they just took it upon themselves through the kindness of thier hearts to make a donation.What you just said I've already said...if everyone just donated a couple bucks a mth it would go a long way in helping to take some of the burden off of the ones that pay for it all..

Yeah I know Lazy. I'm not begging or mad at anyone or anything, but other people are begging and the past week or two it seems like the entire dtr2 drivers have came to me asking to use my servers and vent for a series that probably won't last a full season. And the reason I am saying "just use them if they're up" is because I'm not putting in as much time in dtr2 as I had before so I don't care as much.

Which is a bad thing if I quit caring so much to keep up the site and servers. You have the next best site for being able to maintain all the stuff we do, and if you are unable or no longer want to support it due to lack of support people show you then people won't have many more choices besides IFRT. But I'm not gonna close the site or servers. I will offer someone to take up payments if they'd like to keep it going if it ever came to that. And as long as I can afford it I will continue to renew the site and servers. If I can't I have some people in mind who would pay to take it over.

It's not much to keep the site/servers going per month, way cheaper than I ever expected, but it's nice when the community gives back in whatever way they can. Obviously the economy is tough, too. I know last year we had the $100 to win race and were overwhelmed with donations and that was so awesome! Every little bit helps...
