I think Jsn was talking about the big money race , but I'm thinking there was 34 at that race.

There were 41 total, several DNFs. And it was the money race but VLR_18 didn't win, in fact he didn't even get a top 5 lol. JW won from dead last.

lol, look who got dq'd for rough driving in them results, and yet you guys miss him and his driving style.

We can do it again. We can get that many cars for one single race. We can do better and get more.

i applaud the eager enthusiasm there Jmac , but......
i highly doubt we will see another 40+ car fiels unless there are extenuating circumstances
and those circumstances are limited to pay races , paying out a large amount

40+ car fields were almost the standard years ago when there were more teams than one cared to count

Paying out big money would actually keep some people away. Knowing theres a "large" cash prize on the line. (we'll go overboard and say winner gets $200. I did say overboard.) You know for a fact that names like A2D, Wheel, Shock, and anybody else that actually wins on a regular basis will all be there. Following those that win alot, you're also going to get those guys that don't always win but are almost always towards the front of the field. This information could wind up driving alot of guys away knowing that they wouldn't stand any chance at finishing anywhere near the top 10. On top of that theres the added pressure of cash on the line that would raise the tension and the slightest bump would end up pissing somebody off and there would be fights left and right.

I think its better just to do it to do it instead of trying to make it happen by putting money on the line or anything and having something happen between people on the track.

very good point j bo...always said that'd be the only reason 2 cheat IF there was $$ on the line or i made my living doing this. this is abt fun and when u start adding pressure 2 it like bigger purses then i believe it'd ruin the fun. i had a blast playing baseball in high school then went 2 college and the game became more like a business..seemed all the fun was gone .

Your right Mc, money races could persuade some people to cheat and have an advantage, but at the same times its a lot harder to cheat and get away with it on this game than it is to get away with it in real life racing. With money on the line I'm sure the series/promoter would do everything in his/her power filter out the cheaters and catch them before they even make the big show. J-mac, I sure would love to see a field as large as that registration or as big as the VLR money race they had but Flyer is right, its almost never gonna happen again but there is also a slim chance it could happen, I mean look at the car count at VLR the last 3 races of the season. If they start out getting that many cars next season you could look forward to those car counts maybe rising later on in the season. My cousin Blake (WR32) is about start coming back for league races once he gets the time away from college and all that good stuff, and I got another friend thats about to start racing online again and you can expect them both at league races this year.

Its more than just possible. Look at most of the main series' points standings. Look at the sign up for this. We have the people. We have the cars. We just need everybody to be able to show up all at the same time. We can do this.

The only downside to this would be the Vent. We got rooms to race in, but the DO!T/WFO vent is the biggest and can only hold 50 people. If by some Christmas Miracle we actually do get more than 50 people, the issue would be getting lineups and info to them. But theres gotta be a way to do it. I know its possible to do.

using $ to bring people in isnt the best thing to ever happen on dtr2.All of the fast drivers on dtr2 have won some sort of $ or prize race in their career and they will all tell you that it is the most stressful night theyve ever had on a pc.the best thing to draw big crowds if thats what people are looking for is make sure you run the smoothest show possible,have tracks that people can have a lil extra room on,make sure the chassis are gonna fit for the majority of racers,make sure the officiating is fair to everyone and always make sure that you are there every week to run the show.if those things are accomplished people will race for free every week and have more fun doing it and its just as prestegious as wining a huge $ event.
