GEORGETOWN, DE (January 31, 2011) – Due to bad weather, only thirteen drivers were able to make the trip to the Georgetown Speedway this week, but that didn’t mean there was a lack of great racing.

Heat race #1 would be a great race with Doit 5 coming out on top with Rain crossing the line in 2nd and Shock getting to the “A” Main with a 3rd place finish.

Heat #2 DK, Stealth, and Wheel would break away from the field but Wheel would sputter along on the last lap but was able to secure the final transfer spot.

The “Snicker’s” Dash would be one for the ages. Six of the best drivers in the DTR2 world would duke it out over the eight lap fast dash. DK would come out on top with Stealth grabbing the 2nd spot. Rain would cross the line 3rd followed by Doit 5, Shock, and Wheel.

The “B” Main would see Ice get out front and pull away while BLS_42, Tony, and Bullet would battle it out for the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th positions. Woowoo43 would go home early after handling issues plagued his machine.

The 35 lap “A” Feature was set to kick off with DK and Stealth on the front row. DK would get to the lead early but 3 laps in Stealth would get under and Shock would go with him, after starting in fifth.

Stealth and Shock would then hook up and pull away from the field as the other eight drivers were doing battle. Ice was able to get up to the 3rd spot and try to run down the leaders but they were hooked up and pulling away.

On lap twenty DK would cut a tire bringing out a late race caution with just fifteen laps to go. On the restart it would be Stealth, Shock, and Ice able to make a small break from the field and these 3 would swap the lead several times over the last ten laps as VLR_Shock looked to make it three for three at the WFO tour already this season.

With three laps to go Ice was able to get under the new leader VLR_Shock for the lead but the next lap WFO_Stealth would muscle his way back by and take the point.

Ice would bump draft Stealth down the front straight which caused Stealth to misjudge the turn and slide up a bit and Ice would try to squeeze his car underneath the #1 of Stealth but the two made contact and Stealth would go spinning toward the infield in turn one on the final lap.

Ice would stay on the gas and come out as the leader going into three and four. Shock would give it one last try as he dipped under Ice in four, but would not be able to make the pass as Ice was able to cross the line in first with Shock and Doit 5 close in tow.

DK would bring his hot rod home in fourth, and Rain would finish fifth after being as high as third on the final lap with a chance to win. BLS_42 would have a good run in 6th and Doit's newest member Tony would come home with a season best 7th.

Bullet would come home 8th and WFO_Stealth was unable to finish the final lap and was scored ninth as a result. VLR_18 had engine trouble early would finish 10th as his bad luck at WFO this season would continue.

After the race it would be Ice who would go to the Right Call committee to get a ruling on the last lap incident with Stealth, to quell any controversy that may have popped up with the win.

After a lengthy deliberation it was decided that Stealth would be credited with the win, which in turn dropped Ice back to the 9th spot after the two swapped positions.

After the race, Stealth was none to happy, “I think Ice drove me a little dirty there, he pushed me up and then tried to get under me and spun me out, but I am glad to get the win.”

Ice had a different view on the situation “I hate that he spun but I was going for the win and I saw a small opening and I took it, any racer going for the win would have done the same thing so for that I won’t apologize.”

Shock who has been a surprising force this season at WFO got his third top two finish of the year in as many races, and continues to extend his points lead.

“I’m running really well here right now, some luck along with a great car has kept me in the front all season and I have McKean coming up next week so I feel really good about that.

Come join us next week as we travel to DW_McKean for what will undoubtedly be another exciting race in the cross-country WFO Racing tour.
