The season opener for the 3rd annual Heat Wave season saw eleven cars enter the pits but only nine of them would see the green flag. The front row of VLR_18 and VLR_Shock would take the green flag first in the 40 lap feature with VLR_18 jumping out to an early lead. The battle for second was intense as VLR_Shock, Doit 49, BLS_Jsn and Doit 10 all raced hard the first few laps.

Doit 10's steering would lock soon after sending him off the track. Doit 49 and VLR_Shock would hammer on each other a bit during the middle part of the race before Shock finally cleared Doit 49. Jason jumped back in and raced Doit 49 for 3rd eventually clearing him. On lap 34 an accident in turn 2 sent WFO Ranger and MF22 off the track ending their night.

VLR_18 would take home the checkered flag winning by 2.17 seconds over VLR_Shock. Third place would be the Kokomo's BLS_Jsn, fourth was Canada's Doit 49 and fifth was Arizona's XCR 58. The rest of the field was IFRT_67r, Doit 10, WFO Ranger and MF22, making his first A main appearance in 4 years.

Last years runner up in points, BLS_42 had major engine issues and couldnt get the car fired up, he was credited with 10th. XCR t91 was also in attendance but had ignition issues and couldnt make it to the grid as he was credited with 11th.
