XCR rolled into McKean for the seventh race of the season with 10 drivers making the trip out. Going into the event BLS_42 led WFO Ranger by 4 points in one of the tightest point battles in XCR history.
Heat 1 saw Doit 42 and BLS_34 on the front row. When the green flag dropped WFO Ranger took no time to get to the front. As the heat approached half way VLR_18 caught Ranger and passed him for the win. Heat results were VLR_18, WFO Ranger, BLS_34, Doit 42 and XCR B58.
Heat 2 saw DT77 and WFO Rainman on the front row. Once the green came out Rainman owned the race. With 2 to go Shock lost handling while running second and ran off the track. In the end the results were WFO Rainman, Doit 5, BLS_42, VLR_Shock and DT77.
In the A Main Wheel and Rain would lineup side by side on the front row with anticipation high that this race would be exciting. When the green came out it wouldnt take long before a caution came out when Doit 42's tire went flat.
The race restarted with Wheel and Rain fighting hard for the top spot while Shock was picking off a number of spots from his 8th starting position.
Rain caught the lead from Wheel but followed closely trying to regain the top spot. Rain caught the burm forcing Wheel to check up. While that was happening Shock and Ranger battle for 3rd for several laps until Shock cleared and set sail to catch Wheel.
Behind the front runners Doit 5, Doit 42 and BLS_34 fight hard for position. The front 3 pulled away from the rest of the field nose to tail. Wheel could not catch Rain as the checkered flags flew earning Rain his first win of the season.
The Winter Heat series returns next Sunday when they head to Aspen Extreme for its annual Winter Wonderland event. With Ranger finishing ahead of BLS_42, now puts Ranger back in the points lead by 4 points.
