Union, Kentucky (June 13, 2010)- 22 Cars rolled in to Kentucky this weekend. The field of qualifying was separated by only .15. The fast qualifier WFO Ice qualified in with a lap of 11.33 and slow time being a lap of 11.49. There were 5 automatic bids into the A-Main. 1 being the season champion VLR 18. The other 4 were inherited by the top 4 qualifiers who were WFO Ice with a 11.33, VLR McGee with a lap of 11.38 and a TRT of 58.09, WFO Blaze with a lap of 11.38 and a TRT of 58.29, and finally it was VLR Shock with a lap time of 11.38 and a TRT of 58.72.

There were 5 spots left in the A-Main. Qualifying race #1 was anything but boring. With DO!T 87 picking up the win and following closely behind was BLS F1yer. Qualifying race #2 would be much less exciting with WFO Stealth picking up the win and DO!T 3 coming across the line right on his bumper to advance to the A-Main.

With one spot remaining the only way to get into the A-Main was the Last Chance Qualifier. With DO!T 10 starting on the pole and VLR Jsn starting to his outside. They would take the green flag and VLR Jsn with the preferred line would jump out front. DO!T 10 was just as fast but could not make the bottom work through the race. He would eventually make a mental mistake and not pressure Jsn thinking that the top 2 transferred to the A-Main.

After the race VLR Jsn transferred to the A-Main. We were able to catch up with DO!T 10 after the race and this is what he had to say. "We were just as fast if not faster than Jsn. He just had the preferred line and made the right move to not let me have it. I wanted that win but didn't want to wreck us both. I started to lay back with a big gap between me in 2nd and the 3rd place car. I was thinking that the top 2 made the A. And when I found out only the winner made it well that really burned my @$$."

Finally we get to the part that we had all been waiting for. The A-Main. Packed full of 10 of the best DTR2 racers of today. On the pole we had the driver with the most wins of XOR Season 1 WFO Ice. Starting to his outside is the driver we all love and respect it's the cleanest driver in DTR2 VLR McGee. Starting right behind his teammate in the 3rd position the owner of XOR, WFO Blaze. Starting to the outside is the most controversial driver in DTR2 today, VLR Shock.

Starting in the 5th position is arguably the best driver in DTR2 and the season 1 Xtreme Octane Champion VLR 18. Starting in the 6th position is the man keeping DTR2 running it's the legend DO!T 87 (Rac). And in the 7th position is another driver that you would throw in there for the best driver in DTR 2 WFO Stealth. In the 8th position its the Head Nigga aka BLS F1yer. In the 9th position its the man that got the name Slammer for a reason its DO!T 3. And last but not least it is one of the cleanest drivers in DTR2 history and the only man that will run all 145 Laps tonight its VLR Jsn.

The 19,186 fans are standing on their feet awaiting the green flag and to get the show under way. The pace cars lights are out and the white flag is in the air signaling that we will be going green the next time by. They would take the green flag and WFO Ice would jump out front. With VLR McGee following close behind.

WFO Blaze would pull up in front of Shock but would not stay there for long. As Shock would get a run under him out of turn 2. They would enter turn 3 side by side and Shock would clear him coming out of turn 4. With Blaze stuck on the outside he would start to drop like a rock. And with Stealth coming up on him fast he would just move up and out of the groove to let him go.

Meanwhile BLS F1yer would start his march to the front. Within the first 10 laps he would move from his 9th starting position all the way to 4th. After 49 laps they would come to the checkered with WFO Ice up front. The 2nd Segment had just as much excitement. With the lead changing more than just once. BLS F1yer still making his march to the front. He got under and around WFO Ice but a little contact between the two sent F1 sliding into the infield.

VLR 18 would end up on top after the 2nd Segment. At the end of segment 2 there would be a invert. With the number being 5. That would put WFO Stealth out front. With VLR Shock starting 2nd. They would take the green flag one final segment a 20 lap Shootout. With the advantage of having his own row Stealth would use this to his advantage. And we all know Stealth needs no advantages to beat you. With F1 starting 10th in the final segment he was a man on a mission. Moving forward and fast. 15 laps into the race. It would be WFO Stealth out front with WFO Ice and BLS F1yer following close behind.

But it would not be enough as WFO Ice would catch him but not be able to do anything else. As WFO Stealth would be the winner of the 1st annual Xtreme Octane Shootout. At the end we caught up with the man of few words WFO Stealth. Great run tonight was there a strategy to getting the invert in your favor. "No I just got lucky. I had a 4th place car and just knew where to run. It was a hard fought race. I would like to thank XOR for putting on this show."

We were also able to catch up to BLS F1yer. Great run tonight it was amazing how you started 10th in the final segment and still finished 3rd in 20 laps. How did you do it. "Well it was hard. I have to thank Rac for the starts man he really made it easy to get around him and Blaze. He started on bottom and tried to push high every time leaving the bottom wide open. Other than that it was just running my @$$ off to try and get up there. Just wish it was a 30 lap shootout at the end instead of 20."

We were able to catch up to another familiar face in VLR Jsn. How do you feel after running all 145 laps tonight. "It was definitely tiring. That B-Main was insane. DO!T 10 was all over me the 1st half of that race. He had my butt cheeks squeezing a couple times. But the High Times ford really ran quite well today. Just didn't have quite enough to get to the front. There is always next time though."

Xtreme Octane Racing would like to thank every driver that came out and supported us. Not only for the Shootout but also for the season. It was truly incredible. Thank You all for a very successful season 1. Hope to see everyone come back out for season 2 starting June 23rd at Cowtown 2K10.
