hi paul on ur first pic it shows where ur opening it up in excel and it has delimited checkd and then u should click next and the next thing checkd should b space and nothing else in that row(u may have to uncheck tab or whatever ends up being checkd on in that row),everything else on that page should stay the same.then click next and finish.and it should b seperated into columns instead of a jumbled up mess.then u can delete the correct columns and such and save as the txt msdos and then rename it as raw and it should import into rhino.

Hey, it works!!!! The txt file being changed to csv did it alright Shock, and it automatically reverted to an excel file with an (a) caption plastered in middle, which meant that bringing it into Excel was a peice of cake, and I didn't have to run the Macros; just deleted columns like you told me do Flyer so great stuff guys. Just need to learn now how to shift stuff about, but I don't think I need to be worried too much as I think it looks fairly straight forward. We'll leave this thread open just incase.
Thanx again guys and anyone e;se reading this may learn something from it, too. Don't forget peps, I'm 53, so I challenge you to a track making contest!!!!!!

Sweet!! Yes to move stuff just do the F10 thing, and you can resize/reshape/move whatever u want at will, especially once you get used to it. Most of the stuff you can do with a track is under the Transform tab I think it is...you know you can't add any new stuff to a track I'm sure unless it's through alp, so just stick to that and get ready to save days of time on editing...keep us updated Paul.

hey guys, good to have it up and running. One question. How do you move a section without it shooting up through the roof? In other words, keeping it in the same plain. That's my big problem. Tried just about everything. Thought I had it right at one point but man, screwed up and can't get it the same again. Hey Shock. Those tracks are coming thick and fast, been so busy I haven't raced on them yet so will let you know what I think to them as soon as I get my head out of Rhino. Good going Bud. Always wanted a better East Bay version. Just want to get my converted Weaver park to the size I want. That's my first big project which shouldn't take much considering you Flyer had already done a lot of the work. But don't worry. The track will be a lot bigger than yours. Something different, hopefully. Will have to redo the A1 again too. Dang.

Well you can do the AI on that East Bay if you'd like Paul...

anyway, from one of the screenshots you sent it looked like you had the view messed up...and were no the perspective view. I usually work from the view that's overhead the track when moving stuff...and then the view that shows the side of the track when making things taller and stuff...but you need to reset your views in Rhino (It's under one of the tabs in Rhino). Let me know if you figure this out and I'll try to help you if you are still having that problem.

I did tell you how to get it. I believe you left me a message on Yahoo Messenger. I wrote back and you never wrote me back, so I assumed you were offline but got the link...so I did send it, and I guess you didn't get the message...either way you can get it now and make tracks like never before.

Okay, have manged to get the last Leadfoot track working. I am over the moon. Got the whole set.. Cool aye!!!! I found two nagging humps that canned the cars out down the back straight so I thought... I'd get this into Rhino to edit. I was amazed to see the whole track in there and editing it was a breeze. Leadfoot tracks are time consuming normally.. Just hate it!!!! So anyway, I saved it through the usual means and then run the macros and everything looked good. I turned it back into a txt and then opened De2. Unchecked the bottom box and I was good to go.
Question...!!! It never saved it in the De2. Is that because I was dealing with a Leadfoot track? I am yet to get a DTR2 track converted into De2. Thought I should ask, just incsae I'm messing this bit up as well.

hey paul if u look at the turorial i made where u have to delete those columns u can open the original csv and ur latest raw in excel.u should take the columns of ur new raw that u didnt select in the first tutor and copy those and paste into the orignal csv and then save it as a new csv.doing this is pretty much the opposite of getting it into rhino.if this sounds too confusing ill make a new tut for ya.

Yeah Flyer. I did just that. and it looked good. What the De2 did with it was not save it, and I didn't notice any changes to the track when I went back in to race on it. Is the De2 supposed to say save after it's been imported back in as you cloe it, as there is no feature with De2 for that?

Oh dear. I know it said about not being able to convert the older games, but the numbers I noticed that I was copying and pasting to old excel sheet were slightly different so it definitely looked like I was on the right track. Maybe it's the transfer back again Flyer. Will take another really hard look again at it. Maybe if I try out a DTR2 edit, it would answer that question. Thanx.
