DRIVER OF THE YEAR SERIES
Mission statement
The goal of this series is to find the best driver at all classes that can adapt and overcome challenges of the element of surprise. This series is going to make where someone with little experience will be competitive with all of your seasoned ringers of the game. DOTYS will be a clean respected series that will be open for anyone to race to try to prove that you are the best at the game we love to race.
Rules
1. NO CRY-BABIES ALLOWED
2. All rules listed below will be strictly enforced and followed at all times or disciplinary measures will be enforced
3. During the race there will be no talking on vent( the only exception to this rule is for a called caution )
4. Everyone will run a preset setup that will be released 5 minutes prior to first heat race the only thing that is allowed to be changed is the steering to accommodate for whatever you use to race with
5. When the setup is released it will announce at that time what chassis shall be ran that night and it will be chosen at random using a computer generated list
6. While on track watch your racing line yes accidents are going to happen because this is racing but to take someone out because there slower then you are or because they bumped you as they passed you will NOT be tolerated at all and will result in an dq for the night if determined intentional by race official.
7. All calls made buy the race officials are final
8. There will be no hyper shifting allowed and again violators will be dq’ed for the night
9. If you are a lapped car and you see the leaders coming behind you hold your racing line to the best of your ability it is the car that is trying to pass to make a clean pass around slower lapped traffic cars
10. Full damage and tire wear for each race
11. WHEN IN DOUT OR HAVE A COMPLAINT REVERT BACK TO RULE #1 ALWAYS
RACING FORMAT
The first night of the racing season lineups will be done by random order and after that they will be set according to average finish per race with the driver with the higher average starting in the back the only exception will be for drivers that race the series for the first time after the first race is ran then they will start in the back of the heat that they are put into For example: if your average finish per night is 3.5 you will start behind someone whose has an average finish of 6th or worse
Features will be set by a redraw format with the only exception for the drivers that advance out of the b main they will be lined up reverse from what they finished so if you won the b main you would start tenth in the a main
The track wetness level will be a progressive wetness as the night advances and it shall never be 47%
There will be one warm-up race of 2 laps before each race
The heats will range from 4 to 10 laps depending on car count and distance of the track
C, D, E, F mains if necessary shall range from 10 to 15 laps
B main will always be ¼ the laps of the a main
The a main will range from 25 to 100 laps
CAUTIONS and RESTARTS
All races there will be two restarts allowed that can be called at any time before the leader completes the first lap
Cautions will be used during the a mains ONLY as long as the leader hasn’t taken the white flag and cautions will be called just like a restart would be with the exception that EVERYONE involved in the accident or incident will be placed on the back of the pack.
RACE LINUPS
If 5 or less cars = no heats one main
5-10= 2 heats everyone to main
10-15=3 heats of 5 cars with top 2 to main with one b
15-20= 2 heats with top 3 advancing to main
20 or more = four heats top two advance to a main the winner goes to a main 2nd and 3rd go to b main 4th and 5th c main and so on with top two from c main advancing to tail end of b main and top 5 go to a main
