It's 13 degrees here in Crossville, Tennessee with a low tonight of 0, also had an unexpected snow blast pass through a couple hours ago. No school any day this week due to the snow. Even more cold air is coming next week with temperatures around 0 or below at night.

No school? Really ? Thats a dusting up here lmao.In this school district we either have to have 24 plus inches of snow in 24 hours or a wind chill below -22 for school to close. I do realize that Tennesee isnt equipt to handle the same weather we are here in NY though lol

Ray, that's not how much snow it takes for them to get out of school for a day here. That's how much to get them out for the whole week lol. We've had 24 inches in 12 hours before, and the kids were out for three weeks. On that one, though, they were only calling for 2-4 inches and it switched over about 12 hours earlier than they thought and snowed extremely heavy all night. It got really warm after that (In February), and melted after only a week or so, but there were so many trees down and caved in buildings from that heavy wet snow in a short period of time that it took weeks to clean up. The National Guard even was called in to help cut trees down. I've never seen anything like that but we had to walk to my aunts house down the road (Too much snow to get a car through on the winding back roads), and the whole way there trees were popping left and right and you didn't know if one was gonna fall on you or not.

Our wind chill a couple weeks ago was actually around -20. The low was -10 at night, but in the daytime it was 1 degree and super windy. We've never had that I don't think in middle of the day so I got to see how that felt and it wasn't good lol.

NICE mild and not typical for Alaska lol its in mid 40s here, lows around 34 rain so we have deal with flooding now but suns out at moment

They already called school off again for tomorrow. So that makes a total of ab out 3 full days the kids have went here since December 20th.

And yeah I was just reading an article about how Alaska was warmer than the lower 48 right now Hoover. IT's weird that you move from West Virginia to Alaska and are about 30 degrees warmer than they are

kids have missed a lot of school here too. low last night was -6° with -25° wind chill, todays low is 17° with 25 mph sustained and 50 mph gusts making it -30°, Mondays forecast is -17° with 30mph sustained winds, they're talking -40° to -50° wind chill!!! WTF I am ready to move ↑ to Alaska lol. ☻

Crossville this morning was -5! Our 4th day this month below 0 degrees!!! And the only 4 days we've been below 0 in probably 10 years lol. Apparently we weren't even close to the record low in Crossville on this date, which was -16 in 1963. On January 21st we got into the negatives as well but the record low for that date in Crossville is -25, which is crazy! Set just a couple decades ago in 1985, and is the coldest temperature recorded in Crossville since their records started around 1960. But I couldn't believe that was even possible here until it got to -10 a couple weeks ago, then it didn't seem as far fetched lol.

Our forecast on weather underground says "Tomorrow is forecast to be MUCH WARMER than today." Which apparently means a high of 32 and snow. Normally most of our snow would've melted by now but there's still a good bit around the county in places.
