Well been a long summer and me and my oldest son went into a new hobby ..I have had my old Monte carlo forever and we decided to put it on the track...Nope not dirt but back to my drag racing days..Spent a small fortune on it so far but it looks super and my first runs were in the high tens with a best of 10:91..

That is one nice Monte Carlo SS! What year is it? My dad has an '86 Monte Carlo SS its pretty nice, its a street rod though, yours looks like its either a Pro Street or just a straight drag car? There it is, we just put a brand new 383 stroker in it bout 2 months ago, has all Eagle rotating assembly, light weight brank, brand new RHS heads with a 515 roller cam. Been thinkin bout gettin one of those newer Edelbrock super chargers for it...haven't decided yet

383 Stroker? 3.48 or 3.75 crankshaft with a 400 block or 350 block both will make a 377 ci or 383 without stroking the crank, just curious what combination your talking about.

its a 350 sbc block with a 400 crank all I know about that part, I'll ask my dad here in a bit when I get the chance to give him a call, I'm at work. But I know it is a 383 stroker. theres the motor itself

well, to stroke a crank is a term from the old days.
Stroking is where you make the piston travel stroke longer, typically you would weld lines on the bottom side of the connecting rod throws then when returning or grinding the crankshaft you can add .030 to .062.5 to the length of the stroke adding more cubic inch to the combustion area add that to the oversizing of the cyclinder and you got a bigger engine. the quickest way to make a stroker Crank is to take a large journal chevy crank and turn it .085 off the center line back to a small journal connecting rods get ya a 400 block punch it .030 over and you have a 386 C.I. bad ass Hi-Reving engine, figure it up 4.155 bore and 3.5625 stroke = 386.4 C.I. Simple Fast Dirt Racing Engine.

Gotcha...I'll find out more on the motor, our local race car engine builder did all the machine work to the block, heads, etc. We just put it all together so I'll know more later

Just guessing here but the Pic. looks like you have a Holley 600 on it like a 1850 model
It looks like it hass a TeamG intake and headers with 1-5/8 tubing
for maximum performance that engine needs a Holley Dominater Intake with a Holley 7215 750cfm sitting on top of that.
Headers need to Be 1-7/8 tubing to move that exhuast out real fast and to keep the heads cooler. JMO

It's a Holley 650 double pumper built by Paul Vanderly approx $900 carb with an Edelbrock Performer RPM Intake. Yes it is 1-5/8 tubing but we couldn't find any 1-7/8 with the shorty headers. Those are hooker shorty headers on it. The pistons are Mahle flat tops with eagle rods and crank. Comp Cam 515 lift. Not sure of the duration, but its definately fast enough for a street car. Ran an 11.83 in the 1/4 mile after he had the transmission rebuilt and the new shifter installed. That was the one and only time that car will go down the strip though.

No matter how you look at it, Its sweet
I luv the older chevys, Ive probley built 1000 of them good chevy engines, every way you can imagine, sry about callin that a 600 carb, the air cleaner almost cover it up didnt see the V-bowl. My way of thinking is if you got 205 or 202 intakes and 1.600 exuast on the Racing Head Service Heads it will flow a 750 easy and the Dominator will add 45 ponies to it but it might not fit under the hood.
