I sent this to IFRT_3l just now and maybe it could help some others looking for where to start.

First, you need to go to this section of the site:
teamvlr.com/community-menu/downloads/cat...-editing-corner.html

Download this program (TexDraw):
teamvlr.com/community-menu/downloads/doc...load/36-texdraw.html

(This lets you paint the track to look how you want it, pretty simple. It takes the .tex files in the textures folder of your tracks and lets you export it to a .tga file which you can paint on in programs like Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro. Then you can import it back in and save it as a .tex file again.)

Download this program (De2 editor):
teamvlr.com/community-menu/downloads/doc...ad/45-de2editor.html

(This is used to convert de2 into .csv format. This is the actual track file. You export it to .csv to use in Rhino3d. You'll need this to edit de2 on tracks or chassis. Without this you won't be able to edit any dtr2 tracks or chassis. There is a .de2 file in every track folder and you open it inside of this program...the de2 editor. When opened you can see an overhead view of the track.)

Download this file (Rhino3d tutorial):
teamvlr.com/community-menu/downloads/doc...diting-tutorial.html

(The DirtWizard Design team made this guide (Flash24). It is a very good guide and it assumes you know the basics of DE2 editing first. This makes editing and making new stuff for the game a ton easier than before.)

Download this file (F1yer's tutorial for converting the CSV file to work in Rhino):

teamvlr.com/community-menu/downloads/doc...import-tutorial.html

You need a program like Microsoft Excel, or Microsoft Works Spreadsheet to do this.

Download this program (Rhino3d):

teamvlr.com/community-menu/downloads/doc...ad/776-rhino-3d.html

When you convert the .csv file (as it explains in the Rhino3d tutorial), you will end up with a .raw file at the end, and then you can open this program and import the track in. When you have the track in Rhino you can begin moving and editing objects.

That's pretty much it. Be sure to read the Rhino3d tutorial first because it will explain (I think) how to get the .csv converted to a .raw file. You don't really need the editing macros that it talks about if you follow F1yer's tutorial up there. The Rhino3d tutorial also includes pictures which help.

You might as well be writing this in Japanese because I have no idea what your talking about...but more importantly I dont want to learn lol!
So we finish 18 and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, 'Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know.' And he says, 'Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness.' So I got that goin' for me, which is nice

We could make a YouTube video Shock. But I fear if these guys are having trouble understanding guides, that the whole track making process and some of the more technical stuff will be out of reach for them.

I import stuff completely different then Shock and F1yer, I use open office without macros and stuff. OpenOffice is completely free, but sometimes it makes it more of a pain in the ass.

yeah I have been wanting to do that but just need to find the time and figure out how I'd go about it and stuff and set up a plan. I'd basically wanna show everything in one video like moving stuff around, banking, size/shape, etc but we'd probably need more videos showing how to do grip and radius etc. And I don't think F1 uses the Macros
