Do you think that notepadding sets is Legal or Illegal?

My personal thought is it shold be legal. I believe that everyone has access to notepadding and its pretty much impossible to catch. 95% of my sets are not notepadded and the few that are its only 1st gear that was changed.

im my opion no shouldnt be or there should be a limit in gear edting

ratio 3 = 1.000000 the above set gears is lingal in my opion but i feel a set like ill show below isnt

the gears in 1-2 have been altered when i hosted dtrs i made a rule to make sure gears was ligal and posted a set of ligal and not lingel gear sets as example as far as what els there is to edit on sets iv never done it so cant give any info i feel that edting set ups outside game editer is cheating but just my 2 cents also finial gear ratrio should be 5 point difrence between gears final drive ratio = 5.400000 though pc may interpt them difrent when u get a finnal ratro of final drive ratio = 5.430000 u have a edited set no dout my thoughts

You already know, but I agree with hoover. If people are looking to notepad to get an advantage, no matter how slight it will be, there's a good chance that they have/will go looking for other ways to get an unfair advantage over the competition. Because Notepad is not directly accessible in the game, it means you have to go outside of the game to edit your setup despite the ability to tune it in game.

While I haven't seen anything from Notepadders that give them a big advantage (I win quite a bit and don't Notepad so it doesn't hurt me much) I just think it could lead to them snooping around for other ways to cheat (editing the tracks, hypershifting, w/e else they do). And plus people started making negative stagger for their cars after they figured out how to notepad gears.

I think the reason I think notepadding is ok is because its something you can actually do with a real car. You can actually run negative stagger. Ive ran a negative stagger in this game on an old set (I dont have anymore) and i didnt find any advantage to it...I was actually alittle slower. I am curious on what the community as a whole thought though

In my opinion, notepadding gears is OK with me for 1 reason...when I go out in our garage and look at the 6 gear sets we have for the real racecar, not 1 of them are all seperated by the .05 like DTR2 is...negative stagger on the other hand i think is unrealistic and shouldnt be used, but obviously theres no way to police it. Im not sure how it works in late models, but in sprint-car racing, if ur cought having negative stagger, or a left rear tire on the RR, u will be DQ'd from the race.

Yea, Just don't do it. It's not good for the soul or the game. I understand Wheels part about getting gears off the shelf. But this is a game and we can get to .05 of anything, which is better odds then getting real gears which have 543, 567, 583, 600, 620, 633 and 650 In DTR2 you can run 80-4.60, vs 80-4.65. the 4.60 is 368 and the 4.65 is 372(which is way closer then real gears get)(120-460=552)(120-465=558)(125-460=575)(125-465=581)(130-460=598)(130-465=604)so when comparing real gears compare them to the 552,558,575,581,598,604 not the .05. I actually agree with shock on something here. It is a gateway to way worse activity and simply not needed. I think if it's not in game don't mess it. So, I disagree with Wheelman because why notepad when you don't have to. It is closer with the .05 then gettin it off the shelf. Again .05 Wheel, Not .5

Yea i mean i dont really care if someone notepads and if someone doesnt, like i wont lose any sleep over it so i was just comparing to real life gears in any car....


and yes rain i know its .05 not .50...i just was typing to quick i guess

we actually ran neg stagger on our street stock and both of our modified 4 cars and it is perfectly legal but again it was in a real car and not in a game.
