u could try this to see if it will fix it

. Enable Legacy Components:

Open the Search Bar: Click on the search bar.
Type "Features": Type "features" and select "Turn Windows features on or off".
Locate Legacy Components: Find the "Legacy components" section.
Expand and Checkboxes: Expand the section and check the box next to "DirectPlay".
Confirm and Restart: Click "OK" and wait for the process to complete.
Restart your computer: If prompted, restart your computer for the changes to take effect.

Hey thanks Darren for checkin things out.. I watched a Dutch guy showing how to get older games going.. I followed what appears to be exactly what you have typed up for me.... I did that and restarted PC and sadly.., no go... I have DirectX 8.0 in my DL's waiting for me to find a way to run it into this..., PC...
I really appreciate your help.... I feel it's time for me to find a way to add DX8 to save on all this drama... I'm not building tracks until we or I do.

paul? do u know if ur pc has internal graphics rerun this dxdiag and tell me whatdisplay shows also can u wach vids or have tryed play any other game? i got a pc while back didnt have any internal graphics and had get card in order to use it

It obviously shows a DirectX 12 but says it's disabled... I don't know if the Windows 10 even wants 8 installed and isn't forthcoming in giving me an Install Wizard, like the old days. I can watch Vids... The PC has installed their silly games, not in my league...; and yes they work. Its depressing me but surely.., there is someone who has installed Windows 10 and runs DTR2... Would love for this someone to help out here.... Much appreciate all you are showing me Darren... I did do exactly what you showed but..., same page I had previously and can't activate Dx12... This PC doesn't like running for anymore than half an hour and if left alone goes straight to sleep... Been trying to cancel it RnR.. I might come back and try again soon.

Paul!!!! run that then click display on box brings up i know has dirext x 12 i want see what ur graphics showes

when box opens on info press display at top of choices should be 2nd 1 i want see what ur grphic showing for pc Maybe u should have shock buy u newer pc lol always option

That display I showed you several pics back did show yes, DirectX 12 but..., I can't do a thing without knowing how to get into the Graphics internals. This Windows 10 does not suit... Ur right I should have said yes to Shock... At this point, this PC maybe going back but could be a difficult return.... i NEED A BREAK. sORRY.

Okay... This is what I have as of before.



It does tell me that there is a problem with DirectX12 How to enable could fix it but it's really 8 thast I will be needing anyway.

Sorry to leave you up in the air Shock.... Having issues with my new accounts being Gmail and Facebook so when I am able to find a stupid camera to do a panning of my face Zopperberg, I will be able to communicate easier thru FB.

It updates every few hours this PC... Sick of it.... Just trying to get a FB account so I can chat with Shock and sort this DTR2 out. The drivers I know won't update in Windows10 as the Graphic drivers only like the latest 10-12 not the old 8 sad to say but thanks for ur help.

You don't need a camera or anything for Facebook, just typing. But yeah that would be a lot easier for me to help you out.

Sorry to leave you hanging.... FB I don't and never have been a member. My wife was shocked that membership requires face recognition... For the rest not sure how we can communicate.... Are you on Windows 10...?

have wife make u basic facebook account then we add u and u can chat on there easy dont need real pic for profile use racing pic lol facebook free

Well in NZ now it seems that you have to video your face moving from one side to other which is the only way of membership. There was nothing else there where you could say no photo please. Society has gone nuts!!!

I'm on Windows 11 I think. And yeah that's crazy, I never had to use Face recognition to sign up but that sucks. If there's some other way we can communicate quicker then that's fine as well

Sorry for delay... PC is not the easiest runner... Keeps taking a half hour break.... Tomorrow I'm hoping for my son to visit and sort FB out for me.... Fingers crossed, otherwise hoping the email system might be the answer. Not too sure if they work... I've never had an Email Account since 2010-12 when I signed up with VLR and for that sole reason.., until somebody hacked that...!!!! Hoping this time all will go well, and get this DTR2 going once again.
