depending on the edited car, the main types running in DTR2 are(Lates/Sprints/ProStocks (Several types)/Modifieds/Cupcars/DTR-AU cars Lates and Production's/Buggy's and Leadfoot trucks) which are all different types that run in De2 and therefore each one of those require a skin to match. When it comes to DTR2 Lates, dead easy to change skin to skin, chassis to chassis, unless the chassis was geared up to be running with the streetstocks then you'll need to change the car file's [car.str] file for it to be compatible with the other cars running in that same class.... (You'll find out by looking at the kb size within the chassis. (7kb for stocks etc and 8kb for latemodel classes)Most DTR2 Lates are all the same. Mostly Sprintcar converted DE2's, are the only exception and are tricky. They generally require a special template for skinning if the body textures have been moved too far around, which means the skin won't fit.
In the BLS Lightning chassis for instance, the car is quite a lot different resembling more of a street stock or production class but, any DTR2 skin for the latemodel classes, will fit it even if it is a crate or a bomb.......So if you want that chassis to be used instead of that latecamaro chassis, then it's dead easy...
Open up the skin folder in [skins] and then open up the [str] file in there opening it using(Notepad) and change the name of the chassis to 'lightning' which you should see up in the top left hand corner of the file.
I hope this helps JSN..... Otherwise, I'm on the wrong track, and I'm going to feel a proper ass. Let us know if that was what you were meaning bud.
