u r correct demonic....this will not shift out of 1st gear if u run auto.....if u switch to manual u can shift all day long though.there is no way to limit both auto and manual to 1 gear as of now.

the biggest thing about a auto is the time it takes to down shifts to 1st gear

yeh it would b nice if we could edit how many gears the game used but i think its a default deal with 2 or 4......do you or anyone else know how to use hex editor so we can modify the exe programs like de2 editor and server .exe.....if we could edit those so we could import and export texture verts we could make some nicer chassis and if we could edit the server.exe we could add more server slots and such.a few people mentioned some of the old dtr2 editors achieved the server deal but never released it.

I love these new cars F1yer! Today was my first time driving them and in 2 laps on rodeo I turned a 14.93 then a .94 the next lap. I drove all the other tracks and they are great, allowed me to focus more on my line then when to shift also! Great job, you've impressed me once again, looking forward to coming back and racing these in some league races whenever someone decides to run them

Nice work F1yer !! Really impressed with what you guys are coming out with to keep the game fresh and interesting.. I remember we messed with the tranny's way back in the Dirtwizard days but never caught on ... Auto trans have been in real racing for along time as I remember a few friends back in the early 80's running a TCI circle-matic in their late model and recently saw a few modifieds running something similar..Anyway downloaded the SUPR car and was a blast.. Maybe you could fix me up with a wedge car with this setup... Thanks !!!

I think the reason ya'll are hitting faster times than usual is because the car has more horsepower, so I really wouldn't compare times to G3 or G4, If you want to compare times run the same line with manual and that will tell ya. I personally run faster with it on manual, .78 at peak on auto (which is what I usually hit in default on manual, and .71 with it on manual. Don't listen to me tho becasue I use manual shifting to do most of my passing and only run 1st gear on 3/8 and 1/4 milers. I just have a hard time with it cause I like to hold 2nd all the way thru the corner, and when it shifts on me I get too loose, and I had a very difficult time runnin SBS. BUT I have been faster than most or the fastest at the small tracks with only 1 gear!!! I LOVE THE CHASSIS tho!!!! It's very stout!!!!

i went through those files yesterday along with downloading other programs and its gonna take some time to figure out how to use them and then try to do what i want so it will prob be a long time down the road before you will hear nething else about editing more than we can do now........the new auto chassis may not be for everyone but it does have the option to use auto or manual and im sure alot will use the auto but at least the option of auto is now not slowing everyone down like in the past.

Ya I wish it was here a long time ago for DB, he loved runnin auto but it was costing him too much time, so now he had to learn how to shift just to keep up, now with this, ANYONE who runs auto can be just as competitive. I see what you mean about the 1/2 and 1/2 and it will provide some great racing, BUT I just hope the newbs can controll them so as to have good racing instaed of them being able to keep up and either wreck ppl or be in the way. I am a 100% fan of the car!!! took another look around again today... guess what?
i found the DE2 editor but theres another problem with conversion of ratbag vehicles. de2 only exports/saves as csv files, that ive seen.

but there is a DE2 filter for (i believe) 3ds max. but the prog itself costs hundreds of dollars.

either way, u will need the extracting program from the game cd's called "extractpf.exe", to extract the DE2 file from a "pod" type of file.
try this one. it may or maynot work. im not sure. this one is from dtr spint cars. the pryer is from leadfoot.

the demo's wernt packed with the same program as the full versions were. im getting that error that u stated D2S.

Not sure if you need this, but if you do, I have the actual DTRSC game.....and if I can find it, I got the DTR disc around here somewhere too....
