i like that part Demonic, cause if you rev your real car too much it willl blow. And PLEASE show them how to do that 1 gear thing, although I havn't tried the auto, I really don't want to or have any intrest in it. I like having FULL controll of my vehicle ( cause sometimes I use brake to throw it in) which means I neeed to downshift b4 I get to the corner, not when the car wants to. BUT I am all for it for the guys that run auto, or the newbs, but I think the shifting part is what makes the racing, not everyone shifts in the same spot, so someone is gooing to break loose if they miss their shift giving the guy who didn't miss the shift the upper hand. So far (in my eyes) shifting is what keeps the puppies on the porch. auto=puppies manny=K9 cops!!! I guess I am the only one not liking it, but I am also one of a few that has raced for real. Sorry to sound like a downer and I am NOT putting down these cars, I just think shifting is what gives the edge, now EVERYONE will be in turn 1 at the same time ALL the time at Bloom, I don't know. Let the newbs try it with the Bid Dawgz and see how it works. JMO

im pretty sure demonics deal would work but all someone has to do is load a set from another chassis and that all goes out the window.......im sure some people wont use the auto deal for certain reasons but noone can honestly say they wont use it until they try it.....im tellin u guys it is as good if not better than shifting.....ill post a chassis in beta form this evening and you non believers can see for urself.

ok guys..... i uploaded a new chassis that uses this advanced auto shifting....called SUPR LM......try it out and leave comments like it or not.

These things are the real deal. I went and compared it running Auto to my Gen4 using Manuel. See for yourself.




These cars are fast. They run a little looser than the Gen4s but other than that, these things are quick. I hit 13.93 at Terre....Me. If that doesn't say fast I don't know what does.

you can run that chassis as manual also jmac , so yu can use the same chassis and setup , manual or auto and compare those times

I just went with my Gen4 in manual because thats the closest I've been to running times that I've seen winners (ex: McGee at the DOIT/WFO race he won. Turned 13.96) running.

Thats quite an innovation F1 , looks like i need to learn how to shift ! Sure is nice to step n steer only.

thx guys...it does have a few more hp but i needed it so the shifting would be a little smoother....sling fas and myself ran some in browser and i ran manual and fas and sling ran auto and times where so close it wasnt funny.It does take a little getting used to but it does open up many more options for dtr2.

OK, I tried, and this is ONLY ME and I ONLY speak for myself!!! They are an awesome car, BUT i don't know when it's going to shift, mostly before I get into the corner which I ONLY use for running the bottom, when runnin side by side (on the top) it wanted to downshift too early and when it did downshift it got me real loose! When running the bottom or setting up for a pass (on the bottom) it was AWESOME!!! I love the concept and I hit a real fast lap also (.43 at XSR), but I only hit it once (think it was draft) and was way more consistant shifting on my own in traffic (on the top). I like to "hold 'er down" on the top or on a full throttle track, and was finding it difficult to "roll out" of the throttle without it downshifting to early and "breaking" loose! But if it is going to help "Auto Pilots" then I think it is a Great Idea, and if it is a "Neutral" car then I am ALL FOR IT!!! GFJ F1!


I never said it was a "bad idea" I just said I (myself) wouldn't like to drive it and I really don't, I would however be a fan of a 1 gear ((( Is there no way to have the setup only show 1st gear & final gear ALWAYS, even if a 2 gear setup is applied??)))

The Sprint Cars in DTRSC are only one gear...well, reverse, neutral and go.....is there any way we can use that to make a Late Model or Modified that only runs like that?

now this is really reaching into my memory , so it may not be 100% true or factual , just hazy memory

there is a way to limit the car to 1 gear only , like was said earlier if a setup from another chassis is applied it kicks it back to 2 gears

this is my hazy memory - the one gear car bogged down in the turns way more than the 2 gear default auto tranny does

and i would assume to fix such a thing , one would have to manipulate the speed of the car in relation to the distance traveled by the tires single revolution in order to achieve a balance so the game would think its doing something different than it really is (just my off the wall thought)

even i confused my self thinking that , let alone reading it

if the chassis in this game used files similar to rfactor , where yu can swap out motor files from one chassis too another

im not certain if the would be possible in dtr2 , not the fact that the motor is a file , but to copy and paste the written file corresponding to the motor

change down = {0.0, 3500.0, 4500.0, 5500.0}
change up = {996900.0, 997100.0, 997300.0, 1000000.0}
THIS WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF 1ST GEAR
you will only mess with 1st gear and the final gear the
other gears are not used
