This is my opinion please do not use this topic for a boxing match.Im just trying to see what everyone thinks.
The past 2 nights i have ran 2 league races and gotten dumped in both.Is DTR2 turning into demolition derby where noones feels they are accountable for anything they do?Both nights ive gotten dumped the people who caused the issues cant even muster up enough balls to even say sorry. Most of the time sorry is good enough but it seems like these days everyone feels they need to lay blame on someone else for their mistakes.Ive heard quite a few people having the same issues as of late also. This is a game but we dont come out here and practice every night to just get dumped by some idiots who think they own the track or game or people that just dont have any respect at all for anyone.I know for the longest time when i first started DTR2 it was like a big family and if someone made a mistake they straight up said i made a mistake and im sorry, but right now DTR2 is not even close to a family, its more like an insane asylum where the maniacs just run wild.last night had the potential to be one of the greatest races anyones had a part of and people do stupid shit 5 laps into the a main.In my opinion that isnt smart racing and good judgement for a game that has been on its last leg for a few years now.DTR2 has survived because of the great racing it can provide but if people continuously drive like idiots we might as well go to another game that looks better and drives just as shitty. Please leave some feedback on this topic.I wanna know how the rest of the DTR2 world feels about this.

Much agreed. For the last month or so i've been getting burned out because it seems when you go to league races if its not you getting dumped its 2 other people fighting or complaining on and on and eventually it just gets tiring hearing people bitch endlessly and its like you said, most of it is because some idiot wont account for their own actions.

No one fessed up last night because it was nobody's fault, it's called racing. When you have five guys right together and people three wide behind you it probably isn't gonna go good into the corner. I bump drafted you right before the start/finish line, you drove in the corner and slid up to wheel (On my replay you could have held it to the bottom easily). Then Doit 5 tagged you when you slid up, and you started sliding down and I clipped you, and you kept sliding down and Faschek got you while we were three wide. It's racing!! If your steering lock woulda been higher I think you could have drove out of it easily. IMO. No one should apologize for that because no one even knew what happened after the race, even you had to ask who did it and we had to watch the replay. It happens to fast. I don't see how that constitutes a demo derby since we all had a good clean race before and after that as far as I know. I've been wrecked a lot this month but I don't think people are racing any dirtier than before, I just haven't had as good luck to be in places where I can avoid wrecks.

Yeah I know, I'm just saying nobody even knew what happened when it happened and that's why I watched the replay after. It happened so quick that I don't think any of the four guys around you even knew. I know on the replay I bumped you at the s/f line and I didn't realize that during the race while we were three wide and that might have caused you to drive in the corner to deep, but I can't tell on my replay. Maybe Karl can post his since I'm at work

 no offense fellas but i'm glad y'all had at it back there 2 allow the ol' geez a chance 2 get some distance, but i know exactly what flyer is saying. even tho it is "just racing" it feels more like "just bs..total bs" at times when u feel like u got wronged whether tapped going in or put in a bad position on outside of 3 wide into the corner. let's face it we all can run alone at that trk and hit 90s ever so often..had mama behind me after i got out there and hollered "get over here plz" kept hearing 99/1.26...97/1.29..99/1.32..96/1.36 and on and on alone hittn my marks with no 1 to throw off my rythym ol' geez had er in the wind..just like the majority in that race could have done. i consider terre 2 be 1 of my fav and best trks, but i have been in the same boat flyers was in numerous times and "that's just racing" sucked then 2. hmmm just read that 2 mama and she said you wanta know what i think? she says we sound like a buncha women...it's a game...lmao! i will say this after that said, it sure felt damn good winning that race last night...game or whatever it was and i might just hafta tell mama she needs 2 feel again to verify i am all man!

i wasnt there last night
since i have come back to dtr2 , after a few weeks off and messin with the dtrf deal
it appears to me as tho there has been a higher amount of "reckless" type/style of driving/racing , from many parties
some are the usual suspects , some are guys i thought knew better , some are the "newer" drivers - which i will give a small amount of slack too - that doesnt mean that i dont get mad tho
its gotten to me so much , that , i want to start driving more agressively and im almost to the point of where i want to wreck people instead of try to race them for a spot

now , is this because its the heat of the summer gettin everybody hot sittin in front of thier comp?
is it that the drivers have gained in thier ability as a whole and competition is that much more intense?
is it that the track builders are making tracks that are so racey , its creating an environment where the racing is closer and thus producing more chances for incidents?

those are the questions i have , while i think the state of DTR2 as a whole is as stable as it can be , and as stable as it has been in the past few years , while its easy to get agrivated , i keep coming back to it

as long as we all keep workin together and keep having our series/leagues i think things will shake out
there is no way (in my mind) to stop the wrecking , it is racing and things will happen , i think we do enough to police all situations as best we can

and as usual , i feel like ive rambled on long enough that i have confused myself about what point i was trying to make

5 Points To Make It Better

Point #1...We dont race leagues for the fun of the game. Everyone of us are competitive and want to win.
Point #2...There are guys that drive way over their heads and usually end up punting someone or running in and dooring someone.
Point #3...There will always be contact in dirt racing.
Point #4...Know when to race and when to ride.
Point #5...IF YOU SCREW UP...OWN UP TO IT
So we finish 18 and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, 'Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know.' And he says, 'Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness.' So I got that goin' for me, which is nice

Guys I know not everyone or anyone wants to run like me but I am very seldom in wrecks. Ive talked to several drivers about it and the biggest problem is that people want to race hard every lap. Ive been asked how Im so competitive on draft tracks and its because im very patient. I will get behind someone and push them for 99% of the race just to make sure that its gonna be a 2 car race at the end. But there are so many guys that cant stand to stay behind some1 for any amount of time. I really thing the biggest problem is patients. Nobody can stand to be behind someone.

But I will also say that at Lernerville the other night was probably the best 5 car race Ive ever been in where nobody got punted. Sure there was some rubbing but it was done in a way that it didnt spin or push anyone off the track.

I know I'm one of those guys that drives in way over his head. I get going in the race and I see I'm actually hanging with the guys that normally beat me and my mentality is "get out front and run". Most of the time this mentality takes over on lap 1 or 2...I screwed up the heat race last night when I tried to get by McGee. I doored him, put him in the wall, lifted, then got run over by the field. I screwed up. I do alot. Ice said it pretty good: "I really thing the biggest problem is patients. Nobody can stand to be behind someone. " I have some serious practicing to do before I can even begin to think I can run with y'all like I try to do.

Way to go on the win McGee!

Yeah very good job Mcgee u got out front and done what u had to do last night.I told karl in practice that last night couldve been 1 of the best races in DTR2 history,as it turns out Mcgee was pretty much in time trial mode watchn everyone get smaller in his mirror. We race to win and not race like a bunch of idiots for 2nd on lap 5.Its a little easier to stomach when u get turned or moved outta the way with 5 to go.Shock feels that it was a racing incident.....well that is his opinion.Im sure if the shoe was on the other foot it woulda been a way diff story.Sometimes wrecking is racing but when u race people clean and give plenty of room on every occasion it sucks pretty bad to get dumped by 3 people who have prob been on DTR2 longer than anyone and not a single person can accept any sort of blame.Im not gonna drag on about last night but if DTR2 is going in this reckless aggressive type of racing then ill start using less common sence also.

Re: What direction is DTR2 going? 13 years 2 months ago #11655

Well, first, I hafta say congrats to Rusty AKA McGee AKA The Real Man (lol) ... you deserved that win and got it without any luck - just honest to goodness great driving and speed!!! Luv you honey!!!

I'm gonna say how I picture it in my mind and ya'll tell me how it differs, etc. This is just for sake of conversation, not arguing. I play two different games. Wizard 101 and World of Warcraft. I have to pay about $10 a month each to play. DTR2 is free. Both games involve playing with/against other people around the world. Sometimes, other players get me in battles that wind up killing me, or totally throw me under the bus when we're supposed to be working together. When you die in these games, you have to start all the way over to accomplish your task. I'm super competitive like some of ya'll, so it really gets on my nerves when this happens, especially since I fork out money to play. When that happens, I get upset for like 2 minutes and then deal with it and start over. It's pointless to make comments about it to the moron that killed me b/c that's what they want ... ppl like that get their rocks off of other ppl's irritation. I do make sure I don't team up with that person anymore though. My question is this, is it going to solve anything by complaining about it, or would it be better to do something about it? Someone in these league races ought to step up and say "You did this wrong and until you can prove otherwise, you can't race in our league." For example, say Shock pulls a slide job on Ice, and wrecks him. Put Shock in the back for rough driving on first offense, put him off league races for any further offenses. I think a lot of ya'll are afraid to step on other people's toes. In "real" racing, don't you get blackflagged for rough driving? The name Duane Chamberlain comes to mind on that one.  Have a room for "venting" on Vent. If you really think you're done wrong, protest it. The person who runs the league solely makes the call. He'd make the right call because he wouldn't want to alienate others from coming to his league race. And in the end, if you're not happy with it, just do what I do in my games. Don't race with the idiots if you can help it. There's always another race another day. I will say this, I don't race, I don't know exactly how everything runs all the time, so I could quite possible be wrong on all this. :P

It seems like the argument always arises if league races should be run based on DTR2 being a game, or based on "real" dirt races. Maybe figuring that out would solve some problems? The only reason I really care is because Rusty truly loves DTR2 and I hate seeing him not enjoying it because of some jerk 1000 miles away that thinks wreckin' people is funny. And some of ya'll have really become good friends!

Well who's fault was it? You didn't know after the race, and none of us did either. I asked in the dtr2 chat what happened to you and no one knew. I would think it was racing if that happened to me because it was nobodies fault from what I could tell. And it was way more than five laps into the race

Whoevers fault it was, Should think about others, I know I talk a lot of crap on here, But Im getting so tired of people who wins all the timejust hit guys who don't to get up front real quick..Its why people move on to other games and you keep the same ol winners on here..[usually]...I played the sit back card while it was 4 wide up there and went to pass on the bottom, cause i was gageing off what the 4 wide to blow up anytime and pass, so i dipped low and something happen and F1 was down there basicallly knocking me off a good solid top 3 where I gurantee I woulda been if not got chopped all to hell by the "big dogs i guess?"...Dont rly care whos fault it was though, [deff Not F1's] Ill be back Monday and im not gonna say im'a take anyone out, Just gonna have on my bloom bumper. GJ on your win 53.
It's such a shame, They gonn miss this plane.
