Also something new this season, WFO will be hosting a rookie race on Saturdays at 2:00 ct. Hoping to help out in driver development, We will be offering a “class” for the rookie driver to learn the correct lines, shift points, and driver etiquette.
I am going to try to get a guest driver to come in on Saturdays to help and give a different perspective.
We had i believe 19 rigs slip into their respective slots outside of turn 4 this week, each one hoping to make the Amains. Some of them their first 1. Seems the track is for sale,so there wasnt any hot dog stands open or anything. So the twins opened their own. Wasnt long until they couldnt keep up with the orders. Probably didnt help with those daisy dukes on.
I saw flyer drop 3 hot dogs on the ground. On purpose i believe! Big showin from the BLS group. Farmer had sweet corn a cookin. With butter on em! At least i hope it was butter. Mongo ate about 20 of them and then rolled around on the ground for a while so im not quite sure what it was. This weeks piss an vinegar pole award goes to none other than our very own twins!! nice job girls! Monique went on a diet this week just so they could transfer a little weight in the car.
So the first Amain gets set and its the twins and VLR JASON on the front row. Ice ran over to rainmans house and stole his shine outa the garage so we all had a swig of that,, stepped on the cats tail, strap in the cars and the green flag drops. Some haevy battlin goes on. Enough to let the twins get out to a marginal lead and never look back as they take the win !! Flyer 2nd, farmer 3rd, and VLR 18 4th.
Now we had a 1 hour layover because it seems that years ago, mongo remembers buryin a bone in turn 3 and dammit he was out there diggin it up. Kicked him in his ass i did. Threw some beer cans and old diapers in it and covered it with some clay and we are set. Farm says WAIT!! Ive got to get all this damn butter off my wheel! My question is,, how do you get butter off of a sheepskin covered steering wheel?
And was it really butter or was he just real excited with a 3rd. Dunno. Ask him. Doit 3 looked kinda funny with those dingleballs hangin all around his windshield. Careful,, i saw blaze eyein em up. So invert the field,, smack mamas ass, swig of shine, and we are off on the 2nd A with BLS and DOIT3 on the front row. Drop the flag and BAM! Everyones gettin it on!! Lotsa cars goin from the front to the back and sideways,, crazy racin,, just crazy!
But in the end,, it seems that 1st startin spot is the place to be here cause we have BLS bringin it home with DOIT 3 2nd and whats this???? FLYER made it all the way to 3rd??? Chriminy! So the nude dance hall is right around the corner( funny how it always is?) and seeins how the twins own it,, they opened er up for free!!!! Forfeited the trophy to help pay for the drinks.
But BLS got to take theirs home. Once again we see farm over in his private little dance area. Last heard from he was sayin somethin about warm butter and the effects it has on certain areas of the body. Coors light fast lap goes to FLIER with 11.09. WOW! Nice one! So if ya got what it takes to run a clean race and think you can beat these world class racers that show up here each week,, i guess anyone can get lucky huh?
Come on down to TEAM-IFRT open race night . As always 9:15 est on thursdays. But you better practice cause farm aint foolin around . lol. scares ya huh? Same bat time,, same bat channel. I love it when a plan comes together!! MONGO OUT!!!
images/s5_nd_12.jpgBOONE, IA (July 18, 2010)- It was a beautiful summers eve at WFO_Boone Sunday as it marked the it marked the end to the first half of the season of the XCR Gen 3 series.
13 cars were in attendance as the points battles heat up with Ice and Shock being only 5 points apart going into the race. Ice picked up fast time in qualifying with a 12.75 with Doit 10 picking up the second fastest with a 12.78.
Heat 1 started off with Ice and Shock on the front row. Tension mounted as the two raced furiously trying to pick up the heat win points. While the front three broke away 4th on back were side by side the entire race.
At the drop of the checkered Ice took home the win followed by Shock in 2nd and Zero in 3rd.
Heat 2 had Doit 10 and Rainman starting on the front row. As they crossed the stripe Rainman picked up the win followed by Doit 2 in 2nd and Doit 10 in 3rd.
In the Dash, Ice took the win over Shock and Rainman.
The B Main was taking the top 4 with Spridal and Stephen started up front. The green fell and F1yer moved around both and dominated the race. The final transfer spots went to Stephen, Spridal and Bull.
Finally it was time to lineup for the A. The green flag waved with one restart being needed. As drivers jockeyed for position the battle up front already began to heat up as the top 5 were side by side and nose to tail for the first 15 laps.
F1yer who started 7th came from nowhere and was running 4th after 3 laps. Rainman challenged as he took over the lead for a few laps as did Shock. Ice took back the lead and pulled away while Rainman, Shock and F1yer began to due battle.
Behind them a wreck ensued with Doit 10 getting turned and Bull getting caught up in the wreck.A little over half way in, F1yer got loose and went up into Shock almost causing Shock to spin.
F1yer cut down a tire shortly after and pulled out of the race. Shock came back up and made a nice recovery back to second where he held it for the remainder of the race.
With all this happening Ice cruised to his 4th win and 3rd straight. Ice now holds a 10 point lead over Shock as they head west to Santa Cruz.
BLS would like to thank everyone that came out and ran the TnLs and the fallen 50@DW_Cumberland 2k10. Im sure the loved ones we all have lost over the years really enjoyed the great racing action as they look down on us from heaven.
Fan favorite VLR Mcgee ran a flawless race in the TnLs and took home his 1st TnL win in only his 2nd start.GREAT JOB GEEZER!
The Fallen 50 lapper in gen3s did not dissapoint the fans though as 10 of dtr2s fastest drivers battled for every lap, sometimes 4 wide!
BLS F1yer would take the checkers first though but not without a fight from rainman, vlr 18,doit5,stealth,mcgee,superman,jr and doit2.
If you didnt get to come out and run this one you definatly missed probably one of the greatest races in DTR2 history!
Colona Illinois – 15 drivers pulled in to WFO Raceway for their shot at winning the prestigious WFO 100.
Heat 1 would roll off with VLR_Wheel starting up front and never looking back as the Wisconsin native would run away with the win. After a review it would be determined that IFRT_Rac would keep his 2nd spot and make the WFO 100 Feature.
Heat 2 would see WFO Ice start on pole and cruise to the win while BLS_Blaze would get to 2nd and just ride along knowing his spot was secure.
Heat 3 would be loaded for the point’s leader but WFO Rain would battle past BLS_F1yer and WFO Stealth for the win, F1 would take home the final transfer spot from the heats.
The Reece’s Pieces “B” Main would see WFO Ranger pull away from his 1st starting spot to win with Stealth, JR, and USRA Dane making it out of the B for the 100 lap event.
Once we had the lineups set for the feature and Rain had clinched his 3rd WFO Championship it would be time to run the series finale for WFO.
Rain and Blaze would lead them out of turn 4 to take the green. Rain would establish early that he was going to be tough to beat as he immediately grew his lead to over .7 over 2nd place Ice due to Rac and Blaze making contact out of turn 2 causing both drivers to retire early.
Ice however would begin to cut into his lead and by lap 17 he would be at Rain’s back bumper. Ice would do everything he could to get around but Rain would hold his groove and keep Ice at bay. Wheel would use this battle up front to catch the 2 leaders and on lap 35 and on lap 37 Wheel would use the chrome horn and get around Ice on the inside and set his sites on Rain.
Lap 46 Wheel would catch rain and the battle for the lead would ensue. Wheel would eventually get around Rain as Ice would catch back up to the 2 leaders, but this time he would bring F1yer with him. F1yer would get around Ice for 3rd as Wheel would start to put some breathing room between him and 2nd place Rain.
Lap 58 Ice would get into the back end of F1yer causing F1 to spin to the infield and retire from the race. Rain would cool his tires and make another charge at Wheel catching him on lap 63. They would swap the lead several times allowing Ice to come back and make it a 3 way battle once again. Ice would use this battle to get around them both on lap 71 but it would be short lived as Wheel would get back under and retake the lead on lap 72 taking Rain with him.
Ice would once again fall back to over .4 as Wheel and Rain would duke it out some more. Ice gradually caught them again on lap 89 and would make contact with Rain on the back strait and get to the 2nd place. Ice would then set his eyes on Wheel and run him down from .35 seconds and get to his bumper on lap 97.
Wheel would hold his line and Ice would make contact with the wall allowing Wheel to jump back out to a comfortable margin. Rain would drive in on the last corner making contact with Ice causing Ice to drive up the track allowing Rain to get past for 2nd.
Ice coming home 3rd, with Stealth 4th and JR rounding out the top 5. After the race it was decided that F1yer would be given credit for 3rd due to rough driving from Ice.
Catching up with Wheel after the race he was clearly exhausted, “Man running 100 laps with Rain and Ice on your bumper will really wear you out, it was a good race, great 3 car battle, I probably didn't have the fastest car but could keep up momentum on the high side and hold Rain and Ice off".
Rain walked to Ice’s trailer to discuss the last lap incident “Man it looked like you broke or something. I just got in there so fast that before I knew it we made contact”.
Ice looked a little dejected said “I was hoping I could make 1 last run at Wheel and let off a little too much. And after I got into F1 I really didn’t have any room to complain”
Congrats to Wheel for winning 2nd WFO 100 and Rain on his 3rd WFO Championship. Hope to get plenty of cars out next season as WFO will be bringing back the T~N~L cars back for another great season of racing.
