I have about a dozen installed and even tested one. (Lotsa fun, BTW) Question is, how do I set the game up to race against them???

hopefully i explain this well enough to follow

follow the path
assuming the chassis is in game (if not just open the chassis folder)
infogrames - dirt track racing 2 - data - cars - (ill use BLS 305 Sprint for example) BLS 305 SC

inside the BLS 305 SC folder it lists :
data
misc
car.de2
car.do2
car - its an - STR File , (open this file)

inside the STR file read down til it says "class"
in the BLS 305 SC the "class" is Late Model

you need to change it to something else that is not used by any other chassis in the game, like Sprint Car or SC or Sprint

then they will show up in game in single player mode

only thing is you might want to make a copy of what you have currently so you dont mistakenly try to use your edited version while trying to race online , the file wont match everyone elses and give a mismatch

Oh, boy, I'm really looking forward to this... I love sprint cars. Open wheel racing is my favorite kind.
I bought DTRSC when I bought this game but it wouldn't ply on my PC. I don't think it recognizes my vid card and crashes to the desktop. I also bought DTR (1) but it crashes to the desktop too.

Unfortunately, I don't have internet access with my personal PC so playing online is out of the question. Maybe someday...

Yup, been there, done that too already. Tried most everything I can think of.
I'm runnin' Win XP w/SP3 and 4 gigs memory. A nVedia Gforce 8800 GTS w/640 mb.

It's OK for now cuz I got Sprint Cars going in DTR2. I've created my own Series I call, Sprint Car Mania, and am now tweaking it, thanks to you guys.
I found a number of 'How Too's', Tutorials, and general info on most subjects.

Thanks everybody for all the 'help' type files you've posted in our DL section.
