STEP 1: This game is for the COMPUTER ONLY. If you already have the game installed, skip this step. If you do not have the game, you may download it at this link 100% FREE:
teamvlr.com/component/docman/cat_view/75...-files.html?start=20. Scroll down until you see "DTR2 Full Game PRE-INSTALLED!" and click download. This file contains many additional files for the game including more tracks, cars, and skins that a lot of leagues use these days.
STEP 2: Download Ventrilo from
ventrilo.com/download.php. Ventrilo is a program for communicating the race lineups for each league race. Every DTR2 league uses Ventrilo, so it's a must download. Download the Windows 32bit version (the first one listed). Most leagues do not require a microphone/headset, but it is recommended. Ventrilo has a 'chat' function when you open the program, and that is where race lineups are posted.
STEP 3: Go to this link:
teamvlr.com/community-menu/dtr2-ventrilo-servers.html. This shows you a list of Ventrilo servers, which is where each league races. The BLS Ventrilo is considered the "community ventrilo", because almost every league uses that Ventrilo for league races. This should make it easier on you to figure out how to race. VLR has their own Ventrilo, however. Open Ventrilo and click 'New' and enter the IP and Port for each Ventrilo you see on the page above. For example, the BLS Ventrilo IP/Hostname is dtr2.vent.nfoservers.com and the Port: 3750. Enter those two things in the IP and Port and click connect and you should be inside the Ventrilo now and ready to race and communicate with other racers.
STEP 4: VLR has a handy page called "DTR2 League Schedules". A lot of effort and passion has been put into the page over the last 5 years in order to keep all racers informed on when, where, and what is available to race on a given night. The table nicely shows everything you need in order to race that league race. The link is
teamvlr.com/community-menu/dtr2-league-schedules.html. Every known league is listed on the page and the page is updated monthly with each month's league schedule. If you do not have a track or car in the game that the league you want to run is racing, you can download it from VLR, or other sites if you can't find it there. If you can't find a track/car on VLR, post in the forum or in the chat and someone should help you find it.
STEP 5: That's about it. Be courteous when racing and earn the respect of the other guys who have been around for years. If you're not sure what folder to install everything to, there's a very helpful video guide at this link:
