Here's the way hOoTs see it. Iv'e raced boats for over 10 years,And if you have earned the respect of other drivers.Now to do this you have to be dominant.Or at lest win a lot of races.
Let me give you a situation. You are coming into the turn, And if you are that dominant driver,everybody on the beach is yelling cut him off,And you do than everybody yell's YEAH.
However if you cut him off,And you come in from the race he comes running over yelling you cut me off. Man your an ass you cut right in front of him.I don't see it much different in dtr2 When a receipted driver makes his why to the front maybe be bumping his way to the front 9 out of 10 times nobody says anything.And that is why sometimes after the race depending on who you are I will just say THATS RACING

If you're a driver that wins all the time and has a bad attitude, fans want to see you get run over.
If you're a driver that wins all the time and has a nice personality, fans don't mind you running over other drivers.

I mean if your fast its ok to cut people off. If your not fast it isn't. Nothing to do with personality.
