This happened this past weekend at Granby Raceway in Canada. The driver sustained a broken leg, a severe concussion and a damaged eye. He is still in the hospital as far as i know...

Whoa. its like his car just turned left and air grabbed and sent him airborne. that was weird.

Looked like his wing came off just as he was getting into the corner
So we finish 18 and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, 'Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know.' And he says, 'Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness.' So I got that goin' for me, which is nice

Yeah, he went into 3 and the wing just flew off. You can kinda see it. Then he just started barrel rolling right thru the corner. Holy crap I hope he gets better soon.

yea i guess the wing just sheared off going into turn 3...just shows how much downforce and how important the wing is.

Yeah. It just seems a little weird how the car started rolling like that.....which now has me questioning how they can run them without the wings since there are places they race them without the top wing.

Yea they can run them without the top wing with the car setup for that and it doesnt involve losing it at 150 mph entering a corner lol. I cant believe how unlucky it was to lose it going into a corner, if it happened in the middle of a straightaway the driver could probably get it slowed down and it would be ok.

Yeah, the placement on track didn't help......he was just starting to pitch it in sideways and the wing just left him. Then he left the track.
