To get the game to work online, simply download RivaTuner Statistics Server and click the + sign to add dtr2.exe and then set the frame rate to be 120FPS!

And with the VLR reverse average finish format, I often have found their to a be a logjam in the middle of the field. Usually the slower guys are up front holding up ppl and then the fastest guys ended up being held up too.
