Went from high ping to not being able to connect to a server at all. I ran malware and virus scan. I uninstalled almost every program except DTR2. The game works on my laptop, so I don't think its my internet. I am at end of my rope. I reinstalled the game as well. Game runs fine offline. Any suggestions?

it might be something with your firewall thats blocking your game from connecting?

I also have a problem with ping I can be in the 40s then it will skyrocket .

Alex, are you using wifi or a router or sat? those all have problems with pings. When using online gaming, unless you have the best of everything, you need to use a secure line. All those other things have misfires, which is a loss of connection for a few microseconds. LP, what windows are you using?

Well if you're on WiFi, just plug an ethernet cord in the back of your computer and into the modem/router and it should help stabilize your ping

I have a wall plugged bridge with an Ethernet cable that plugs into my laptop, it usually works pretty good with my modem. My ping stays low but sometimes I still get randomly disconnected for a second which sucks.

I tried it once a few weeks ago and still had a problem.

jsn, windows 7. I did a complete factory default recovery. was working ok till end of b main.

If you can run DTR2 in compatibility mode, try running it in Windows XP. Look into your McAfee or w/e you use and see if your Scanner is set to scan everyday. Does this happen about 5 min later each evening? It could be anything from windows updates, defrag, virus scan, or cleanup scanning. Make sure when you look into all the programs that will scan, that you either switch them to a different time or turn off during racing. Not sure if any of that helps, but it's a start.
