i have not changed anything on here game has been running fine ...left leauge race other nite & joined a browser ...i have 0 ping & click ready game doesnt get off load screen ....i have updated disk clean-up defraged etc ...uninstall & reinstalled game ....still no ping ....can run single player & ..rfactor & such ...just ZERO PING dtr2 ....any help plz thx squirrel

that is interesting , it sounds like something might be wrong with the internet connection? or maybe your firewall went nuts and wont let dtr2 work??
im just taking guesses here

Squirrel, Thats probley my fault,
I have been developing a program to blacklist the mac ID of computers that enters the browser server with a corruption within the game, Just getting sick of the servers getting knocked down, and trying to keep some of the lag down by the server trying to load corrupt files. The program locks out the computer not the internet IP, so know matter what you do you can not return to the server untill the couruption is non existant, Take a look at some of your tracks and skins you reinstalled in your game and try again. I will reset the protected list, This in not a Punk Buster cheat detector, it simply detects files that won't work and or a virus within the game.

That seems like it is going to push people away from Do!T servers, I would be scared that the track I loaded from a Track site would have a corrupt file in it, and I would be very upset if my game would not work because someone stopped MY GAME from working. That is Personal then, because if you are messing with something I paid for, and your not a developer of the game, I would be thinking of a lawsuit. We download these tracks from your site, VLR, and IFRT sites, not to mention a couple others. I may have gotten what has happened wrong, but messing with someones PAID FOR game to where they can't play is a BIG NO NO!!!

Jsn, you missed the point, if you have a corrupt files ill be the one to push you away you won't have the choice. Doit pays for those servers and we only software the 72. servers and the reason we do this is to keep the servers from getting knocked down every 5 minutes with files that won't load because they have been compromise in someway. It also may take a minute or more for the server desides it can't load that file makeing the servers lag. this has nothing to do with add-on tracks or edited tracks. It does have something to with skins that were not done properly or size wrong or saved in the wrong format, bad tracks is also a big part of the problem. If you remove the bad cars, skins or tracks the server will let you in, if it won,t then sue me.

Should I delete all skins then. It just seems to me that someone should shoud just put up a forum stating that we need to delete all skins, and the only skins to be used will be the ones u, f1 or whoever a dedicated skin maker is! After running this game for 2 years, I have accumulated a lot of skins, If they are only trouble and of no use, then why not just run the DF skins all the time.

ive never heard of a skin making a server crash , bad tracks maybe?? but usually when someone has a track that is un-like the others thats when people get checksum errors , same with chassis - at least thats what i thought???

Actually in the past month or so it has been bad skins, before that it was bad tracks this could be to someone not saving the file in the correct format or the size of the skin exceeds the game limits on the tracks I think they possibly were tracks that were f**ked up during the editing stage and given to others for a track, not downloaded from any site

When you enter the server and it syncs IE the load screen it scans every file you have in the game, if the file isn't a valid file the server struggles to find a place that file belongs, it may take the server a minute or so to ignore the invalid file thus causing the 2 or 3 lap lags you have been seeing. a corrupt file will not show up as a check sum error because the file never loaded to be compared.

How could it be bad skins? if your skin is sized wrong or something like that I'm pretty sure the game won't even load. You get a registry restore error I thought.

but it still scans it, then later the server ignores it
