When I get the line ups set, I sure random.org's random number generator and controller the driver who starts in that position.

JOHNSON TAKES RAGIN' CAJUN SHOWDOWN 10 years 11 months ago #55842

JOHNSON TAKES RAGIN' CAJUN SHOWDOWN

Vivian, LA ( December 15, 2013) -Everyone knew it was going to be a good one right away in qualifying as Greg Johnson and Steve Francis the top two men in points qualified with the same time at 12.47. The quick qualifier of the evening was Eric Jacobsen with a 12.31, who sat on the pole for the first heat. He was no match for Billy Ogle and Morgan Bagley who put on a show for the heat win. In the end Billy Ogle won the first heat, as Lanigan out dueled Greg Johnson on the final lap in heat two. Tim Fuller won heat three ad the Moyer's and Rick Eckert put on a show in heat four as Billy Moyer Sr won it with his son taking second and Eckert ending up in fifth.

Kent Robinson, Craig Vosbergen, Matt Miller, Jon Henry, Don O'Neal and Josh Richards moved on into the B Main from the C Main. Keeping his alphabet soup run alive Craig Vosbergen charged his way to the B Main win with Tim Fuller taking second,Moyer Jr third, Blankenship fourth Owens fifth and Bloomquist sixth.

With Billy Ogle Jr and Michael Holmes setting the pace for the feature Greg Johnson slipped out to the early lead as Billy Ogle Jr slipped off the track in turn two. As they entered lapped traffic Michael Holmes took the lead which allowed a charging Ogle to close the gap between first and second. As they cleared the first group of lapped cars Billy Ogle Jr came out with the lead. On lap twenty-five the first and only caution flew as the leader Billy Ogle Jr hit the infield tire. On the restart Johnson stepped back out to the lead and never looked back taking the win as Ogle charged his way back up to third. The caution was unkind to Francis however as he slipped back and fell a lap down and finished in tenth place. The rest of the top five were Michael Holmes, Billy Ogle Jr, Billy Moyer Sr. and Eric Jacobsen.

After the race Johnson said, "This is what we needed, a big win to take over the points lead. I do hate it for Ogle who had one fast car tonight, but that's just the way things go in this sport. Hope I can hang on next weekend and bring home the championship."

"We just didn't get the restart we needed after that yellow", Francis said, " The tires just cooled down on us, but championship is still in reach, we just need to refocus and be on top of our game next weekend."

Francis Regains Points Lead, Weaver wins from B 10 years 11 months ago #55937

(Bruswick, GA) Going into the night it looked like Johnson almost had the championship wrapped up, but Francis had other plans as he regained the points lead. Round one heat winners included Randy Weaver, Clint Smith, Rick Eckert and Darrell Lanigan. Round two heat winners included Billy Ogle Jr, Shane Clanton, Rick Eckert and Bobby Pierce.

Two Australians Jamie Oldfield and Michael Holmes moved onto to the A Main from B Main #1 with Randy Weaver as Billy Moyer, Tim Fuller and Brandon Sheppard transferred from B Main #2.

Rick Eckert and Darrell Lanigan started front row for the fifty lap feature event. Lanigan lead lap one, but was over taken on lap two by Eckert. Lanigan regained the lead on lap six. Eckert was able to sneak across the line before Lanigan on lap thirteen but again the lead was taken over again on lap fourteen by Lanigan. It was short lived however as Weaver took over the lead on lap fifteen and never looked back and lead the rest of the race.

Weaver was elated in victory lane to become the sixth diffrent winner on the tour this year. He stated it was one of the biggest wins of his career.

Tomorrow the season will wrap up back at Golden Isles. But there will be no rest for the weary as the 2014 season will start on New Years Day down under at Speedway City in Adelaide, South Australia.
