ok i have read both post tryed that and it still is not working it gives me a multi etrace error i have teamview if some one would want to help using teamviewer

hey bub, I had the same problem. go to options, video, set resolution to 1024x768, color depth to 32 bit, and turn on high resolution and 32 bit textures( green arrows ). see what that does.

I am using 1440x900 right click on icon, click compatibility, mode and run dtr2 in windows xp

I just got a new pc with windows 8. damn it. I can race inside the game but when I go to race online its all jacked up at the start. I've tried the above fixes and still sucks. any other ideas bedsides dumping this sucker in the ocean

VLR_v21 fixed his problem by following the steps NYPride posted (Thanks NY)...but yours sound a bit different. Do you get any errors?

I did get it to work, at least once in every race it just stalls for about 3 or 4 seconds and then continues on. very annoying and I'm not sure what happens in the race with the other racers since I haven't ran with anyone yet . Thanks for the help NY and shock. I swear to all that is holy why does Microsoft get to run our worlds? idiots

Yeah Windows 8 sucks bad from what I hear. Windows seems to make a good version every other attempt. So maybe the next version of Windows will be decent. Don't thank me though, NY had the good advice and I'm glad you got it to work!

The problem with Windows 8 is that it was designed for a tablet more than an actual computer. At least that's what my old IT teacher said when I went to him to get info off my old hard drive. He was sent a version of 8 before it was released since he's a beta tester.

I am on Windows 8 and LOVE IT!!!! I had one problem with DTR2, clicked compatibility mode, ran DTR2 in XP and have my monitor on 1440x900 no problems at all after that. Changing the video settings just makes the game no fun, but if you run the trouble shooter it will fix everything. So it's just making the game compatible is what you have to do. Windows 8 has made my work and life soooo much better than XP or Vista.
