I was just curious to see how many serious DTR2 racers enjoy an adult beverage whilst racing. Do you abstain from alcohol before and during a race? Do you try to limit yourself from becoming too drunk to make it stick in the turns? Is there such a thing as too drunk to race?

I have found that I run more consistent lines and set personal records after I've had a couple of beers, but if I drink three or four in a short amount of time and try to race I tend to get sloppy. Maybe it's just a coincidence that my lap times go down after a couple of beers.

gotta be relaxed 2 do well at anything, however if u relax 2 much (2 many beers) then u wreck on the track and off lol. i found this out the hard way..didnt race dtr2 back then, but did drink 2 many beers. been sober now almost 10 yrs..not 1 beer since jan 12, 2002...in hospital 9 days with enlarged liver and hepititis a b c or d (not sure which 1..1 where u drink 2 many beers). back to your point tho czburger, no i don't see it as just a coincedence your lap times are better after a cpl beers and no coincedence u wreck more after 2 many of them either.

i have been known to partake in the adult beverages from time to time , if i am going to race and drink i wont usually start drinkin til the race starts that way im only 2-3 drinks in by the time its over , i have gone past the point of no return a few times while racing and i have learned my lesson

 lmao deadbolt us older guys lived and learned it. lord i'd hate 2 see it if shock drank. son, plz let me know if u ever start. 1st i'd withdraw from that event then come to tn and kick ur a@@. nah, i have nothing against anyone who has an occasional brew, just i can't stop at 1 or a few, so i choose none. db the time u talkin abt was priceless tho...very glad u back with us after the time, but it was funny. real people playing a real game real emotions whether drunk, tipsy or just plain stupid...as i can be at times 2 lol.

LOL. Nice.

By the way, I would never drive an actual car on the road after partaking in adult beverages. I should have stated that in the original post. I have bailed too many friends out of jail for DWI and have been in a serious wreck while sober, so I have absolutely no desire to drive around after knocking a few back.

On the other hand, since I play DTR2 in the comfort of my own home, I might as well put my cupholder to good use.

As Mcgee I havn't drank for 9 years, but I do have 1 occasionally, but when I did drink I always noticed after 2 beers, I was 10 foot tall and bulletproof, (reason I stopped: I wasn't)!!!! Maybe the aggresive not givin a crap attitude makes ya faster, BIGGER BALLS!!! lol

LOL MC! At least he left the good half!!! Momma always said, "Your not going to learn till someone beats the crap out of ya!", well I learnt!!! I had a pill problem also MC. After one of my bad mini sprint flips, I shattered my knee, and had 3 reconstructive surgeries. The doctors had me on Oxycontin 80s, which I ended up abusing, up to 20 a day, which when they found out I was abusing them, they took me off, cold turkey. I wanted to die, felt like I was going to. After almost losing my racing career and my family. I vowed to NEVER touch another pill again. Wich kinda sucked because I had to have a couple teeth removed after a bobble into the wall, which I did without pain meds, that sucked!!! But to date it will be 9 years in August since I touched a Pain med. Only thing I will take is Aleve*! So for the 6 degrees of seperation, we can all be here for eachother. For drinking and driving, please just DO!T here, for we all have family on the roads, I know women drivers are just as bad, but remember, the life u save might be your own!!!

The man knows his rights!!!
So we finish 18 and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, 'Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know.' And he says, 'Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness.' So I got that goin' for me, which is nice
