I am just starting to get back in to DTR2 an have installed the game on to my laptop an it is working fine other than my eyes are startin g to hurt from looking a the small screen.. the trouble im having is with my desktop the error reads as this:


There was an error while trying to start up DIRECT3D8 on your video card.

Please try updating your vifeo card drivers or reinstalling directx8.

DIRECT3D8 error message

the device is lost and cannot be restored at the current time,so rendering is not possible


My video cars is a Geforce 9600 gso 510 an the drives are up to date an i know my directx is is good im running window vista home basic an play many high end video games an can not figer out why such a older game wont play on my system when my laptop is windows 7 an it plays just fine..does any one have an ideas?

try uninstalling the game , re-install it with compatibility wizard and tell your computer to run dtr2 with an older version of windows

yeah i went trew that how prosses with every compatibilty that the game offered an they all gave me the same message.

i was starting to think after reading the error over an over that maybe i should reinstall my video card an the drivers but im not shure
