Need Help with a Ping issue 12 years 7 months ago #26148

I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for how to fix my ping issue. My ping is perfectly fine, but only for an hour at a time and it freezes up temporarily for 20-30 seconds every hour or so and then settles back down. I'm on a wireless laptop so that might be one issue. I also use Avast as an antivirus system so will disabling that help at all during races? Thanks to anyone who responds I just want to race some more VLR/ERL/SRF or whatever races without this issue. Thanks

recently i was having ping issues as well
while im not entirely certain of the cause , i went and DL'd the adavnced system care 5 , its free www.iobit.com/download.html , that seemed to help alot and actually fix alot stuff on my comp

i have kaspersky lab as my virus stuff the comp came with , and i cant for the life of me figure ut how to work it beyond just scanning

anther thing is t check out my other post on here , if anyone replies to it abut preocesses and services , in task manager try and turn ff as much as you know you can with oout disrupting the normal running on comp and dtr2

in the game itself i have turned off alpha and enviroment mapping , to help from that aspect

Thanks Deadbolt. I'm running VLR this Sunday and I just want to fix this crap so I can relax and not have to worry about glitching. I'll try what you suggested. Thanks again.

no problem , i hope it helps
the deep clean option on that free program is what i use on race days
it takes a few minutes but runs thru all kinds of stuff
and fixes most of the errors
it will bug you with paying for the upgrade , but i havent done that

send me that on yahoo squrriel, and ralphyboy try to be as close to a wireless router as possible preferably having a wire is the only way.. just last night at midnight madness i was warpin and my ping was goin sky high with wireless internet the router was 3 feet away i plugged a cable in it and it still didnt run right .. so i guessed that my computer was still running off the wireless and i disabled it and my ping didnt even flutter once just like my desktop but thats gettin fixed so if you do get a wire hooked up and your still having problems try disabling the wireless internet by going to control panel , network options or internet options and youll see a local area connection and a wireless connection disable the wireless, you should no doubt have any more problems what so ever with your ping flutterin
