I'm just curious of other peoples opinion of bump drafting. If it knocks someone out of there rhythm I would say not cool. Or is there any such thing in dtr? Drafting i can see. But the bumping part. I don't know about. Just curious.

Hoots there is an art to bumpdrafting on this game. For me I have to trust whoever is in front of me and know they can handle the bumps I give them. If I start bumping someone and they get squirrley and I dont think they can handle it I dont do it. Ill try to get around and see if they want to push me around alittle. The main thing is knowing when to lift going into the corner and how to make contact coming out of the corner
So we finish 18 and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, 'Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know.' And he says, 'Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness.' So I got that goin' for me, which is nice

well hooters it's like this my man if u hit me on a str8away when we both in the gas and u hit me str8away in my rear and i'm in 1st then hell ya man i love it, if i'm in 2nd place and u behind me and we both go at same time and u hit me on the str8away and we go past 1st and i'm leading then hell ya i love it....use ur imagination when i dont love it  seriously tho, there is a fine line when 2 let off and when drafting you'll notice sometimes u only 1/2 throttle especially at the end of the str8s..the exceptions 2 this are the one's who are full throttle at this time and are pulled on into the turns by the draft and oops  . cant lie just like most who play the game it's happened 2 me just like u or them, but love it or hate it it's part of the game.

Its very hard to "master" bump drafting and in todays game theres probably 4 or 5 that I totally trust. The thing is that you have to hook up with someone you can trust and more importantly trust you. Mistakes will happen, even by the guys that are the best at it, But its something you just dont learn you have to learn through mistakes. Thats where the line get blurry sometimes

Im the Bumper not the Bumpee
So we finish 18 and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, 'Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know.' And he says, 'Oh, uh, there won't be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness.' So I got that goin' for me, which is nice

Well I love all kinds of drafting, and I love Short tracks also! IMO you gotta be good at everything in that sport or u will fall behind and be left out! When I started running DTR2 I HATED Pukeview, and Strodeo, but when I learned how to draft, I LOVE ANY draft track. The "art" is making sure the guy/girl in front of you has a fast car and can hold a line, and will run the draft line (yes there is a draft line) with ya, then most of the time you will be in 1st gear (when pushing) and when you get to the straights hit 2nd to push, but wait till you get on his/her bumper to hit 2nd and push, other wise your gonna send him/her sideways, when you get close to the corner, LET OFF, drop to 1st gear, that'l get u off of the guy/girl to stay about 1/2 a car length off, then floor it coming out, that'l draw you to him/her and then connect hit 2nd and go (like ICE said, there are only a few who can do this). When getting pushed, run the fast line and run your fastest, expect to be hit hard the first couple times. till they get used to your line, when connected you can run the middle all the way around, pretty much any track, and FLY!!! This is the diffrerence from running a .78 (@Peak) alone, to a .68 in draft!

Now when bump drafting, the lead car will run the fast line, while the push car lays off in the corners, drops about 3 car lengths back get a good run and BLAM! send you down the track, while that's happening, momentum carries the push car back to ya for another shot. The best way to do this is to time your shots to when the lead car is going in, coming out or down the strights, making sure to "punt" them through the corner (if it's a Wide F Open turn) if you have to slow for a corner (ie. Peakview turn 1) then let up, follow CLOSE and then punt them through the turns, then momoentum brings the push back to the lead car and so on! That's the difference between runnin .68 in draft (@Peak) and a .59 in Bumpdraft! That's MO!!!

Its also knowing that your gas pedal or buttond dont have to be pushed all the way in all the time too
So we finish 18 and he's gonna stiff me. And I say, 'Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know.' Ya that too, for got to mention the throttle controll, guess us guys that use the pedals have a lil advan there, we can use the brake, and the throttle and be able to use them in how we need them, 1/2 way, 3/4, 1/10, all that, I just "ASSUME" people know to "let off" when they are driving someone through the turns.

I'd rather be the bumper than the bumpee. Most tracks when I get bumped I get squirrely and almost wreck.

Like it or not drafting is a huge part of this game and can get you to the front and keep you there once mastered . Even after a year running every race almost its still hard to find people that will draft with me come race time. I have found lately that the racers I seek out to draft with have similar pings to mine and we can hook up easier without upseting each others car , while others even though I run with them nearly all the time it just dont work out cause their car is jumpy on my screen in a tight draft.
