1. Yes, UNS meaning Unsanctioned

2. Yes, mostly to visually see the tire wear to help you make a better tire compound choice. It's relaly hard to get enough damage to actually disable your car (at least actual damage, visually the damage is terrible.

3. No, there is never a good time to lose weight. If you are losing weight that means you aren't doing enough fun things, or eating enough food that tastes good. Just keep buying Velcro shoes. Eventually, you will learn to love them.
