1. Yes the handling sucks, that's why I wanna make a chassis more like Gen 5 handling, but with tire wear.

2. The tire strategy is no different than coming up with a good setup really. I imagine the making strategy for tire wear is the same general feeling people had when trying to figure out how to make a good setup when the game came out. Over time, it gets easier to know what tires work best and in what conditions. I could see how for you it would be harder since you haven't raced them yet, online at least, to see what tires work good at what tracks etc. I'll give you a hint, though. If racing at a short track, the soft tires have a better chance of holding up long enough for a win than they do at tracks bigger than 3/8 mile. That's something I've figured out since running them in leagues and what not.

For example, if you use soft tires at Knox Day, you're pretty much not gonna win unless you just get extremely lucky. But if you use soft tires at Highland 2k12, you have a better than 75% chance of winning if you are a decent driver and everyone else is on different tires. Or if 2 or 3 guys use soft tires you will probably be battling it out with them for the win. That's just a tip if you are completely lost on what tires to try.

Most people seem to use medium or medium hard generally. BW likes to use completely hard tires and make a run at the very end even on the people who use med or med hard. I used softs at LaSalle and Highland 2k12 and won both of them, LaSalle by 2.5 seconds over Wheel, on mediums or higher. And at Knoxville I used softs and got a 2 second lead very easily only to fade to 6th in the last 15 lol. If you need help on choosing a tire wear I'll gladly help you out though since i Have a decent idea of what works now from racing various track sizes. And remember it's time scaled so if you do use softs at Cedar Lake or something, just because they are solid red in a 3 lap hot doesn't mean they will be solid red on lap 3 of the 100 lapper. You probably already knew that, but I'm just about dumb (or smart??) enough to try my luck on soft tires for that race :D

Im not knocking the tire wear deal. Its just 1 more thing to worry about during a race and as we all know i dont even bother racing anymore so i definately wouldnt want one more thing to worry about,if i did race. Keep calm and carry on with your UMPs.
Better eat them fuckin vitamins kiddies.

I'm very calm. I was just trying to give you tips on them. The tire wear makes it more fun. After one race I think you'd love it. Cause either way, you're either gonna start out super fast, or end up super fast, it just depends on the tires you pick. So you better hope if you start fast that you start fast enough that the guys who finish fast, don't catch you lol. It's not something you really worry about after racing the cars a couple times. It's as simple as looking at where you're starting, and figuring out from there. I restarted 10th at Tri-City with 20 laps to go and I was leading again 3 laps in on soft tires. And it was a good choice because I didn't get passed back for the lead till two to go. I kinda got walled too or I woulda made it harder than that for him to pass me and might have still won.

It's for $200 dollars anyway so fukk it and come race! Who knows, a good tire wear choice for you could offset the amount of rust you have :P

Grip wise I was about .06-.09 faster on the outside than I was on the inside comparing my fastest laps from last night. It seems the outside is a tad more dominant but the inside is there. But listening to other people last night, Licmer could turn almost equal times no matter which line he ran and TM could stick his car anywhere and make it work. So grip wise I think its good based on how we were using the SUPR's to test and they're a hair faster than a Gen5. (1 tenth faster at Rolling Wheels Beta to be exact)

I was on softs at Highland 2k12 at HTL on Tuesday also, I started on the pole and finished 2nd to shock. They held up pretty good but it was only a 30 lap race.

Yeah but Geisler, what I've been trying to say is that the laps don't matter much. We ran a race at Highland 2k12 on 40 laps and Ranger won by almost 4 seconds lol. It's time scaled so if it works good on 30 laps it probalby would work on 70 laps...

Yea I k now what you mean by that. I still think it would be harder for me though to hit as many consistent laps with the soft tires over a 70 lap race as opposed to a 30 lap one.

I was just watching some Rfactor videos of their Cedar Lake Speedway and I gotta admit for as graphically challenged as DTR2 is I think our Cedar Lake Speedway is going to look much better ,but I'm biased ;)
