I caved and got windows10 and now dtr2 will not open right. I can race in Quick race just fine but when I go to mulitiplayer is were I have trouble.

when joining a server i get into it ok and can set up cars setups and all but as soon as I hit the start button it hits the fan. I get to the track but the screen just jumps and flickers and I have to escape out to go back to the chatroom. I have tried all my video card settings and screen resolutions for game but need help. thank you.

Thanks for the suggestions there Rainman. Unfortunately I Tried those already as well with no success. I also found a post by Ranger a while back when he upgraded:

WFO-RANGER wrote: we'll just upgraded to win 10 and dtr2 still runs just fine after a few fixes. had to download this program _www.guru3d.com.nfo
then run it to remove all the video drivers then went to nivia and downloaded the new driver for win 10 and did a install and all works. I did try to just download the new driver and run it but kept getting a error and it would not install . you need to run guru3d first and it should work. Hope this helps anyone who has a issue .
when I first upgraded I got the dreaded directx8 error but works now.

I have performed this twice now but it did not work for me. The game will load but during the pace lap the car is in mid-air twitching/hung up then when the green flag drops the car smacks the track and usually gets destroyed or flipped over. I am running an older Nvidia Geforce GTS 250 1GB PCIe video card. I went to nvidia and downloaded the latest windows 10 x64 drivers for the card, removed geforce experience and all nvidia drivers, ran the guru removal tool, rebooted and installed the new drivers from nvidia...same result. Hoping to upgrade video card eventually but it will be a couple months. Gonna keep hacking at it..any new suggestions appreciated.

Try running the game with the onboard graphics instead of the card.

Duster is tech literate, he knows how. But in case you aren't it is in the fucking DTR2 video settings. Like literally the first one.

MoBo doesn't have onboard video...just a few pci-e slots. At the moment that is the only decent pcie video card I have.

funny thing is that it works great offline..take it online to the same track and it flips out..even tried default tracks..still does it

Duster, have you tried downloading the version we have here on VLR? DB had the same issue as you and got the one from here and it fixed it.

I've fought it for a week now. tried removing and reinstalling latest vid drivers, removed and reinstalled the game(vlr version), still no go

Just out of curiosity what video manufacturer is everyone using that is having probs?..I have a Nvidia Geforce GTS 250 running
Direct X 11.1..just wondering if the ATI fellas are having issues as well or is it something with Nvidia...or Direct X..or something completely different? lol

Also checked firewall settings...Game has full permission..still cheeses on the start in multiplayer
